Spider-Man’s Long Awaited MCU Battle With Kingpin Finally Comes to Life in Perfect Concept Poster

A new poster hints at a showdown between Spider-Man and Kingpin, potentially bringing New York’s grounded heroes back into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Surprisingly, despite being major rivals in the comics, Spider-Man and Kingpin have never actually fought on screen. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could become a key challenge to Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who has been steadily increasing his power and reach within the MCU following appearances in *Hawkeye*, *Echo*, and *Daredevil: Born Again*.

A fan recently created artwork imagining a future Marvel Studios project centered around Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin. Shared on Instagram by @spdrmnkyxxiii, the poster depicts a potential special presentation titled *Kingpin: City Under Siege*. It envisions a conflict between Kingpin and several heroes, including Spider-Man, the Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist – essentially, all of New York’s street-level protectors. While Marvel hasn’t announced anything like this, it explores a storyline similar to one already planned for another upcoming Marvel project.

How Marvel Studios Will Continue Kingpin’s War in the MCU

The first season of *Daredevil: Born Again* ended with Wilson Fisk becoming Mayor of New York and cracking down on the city’s masked heroes. The upcoming second season will continue the story inspired by the 2021 Marvel comic *Devil’s Reign*, where New York’s street-level heroes fought against Mayor Fisk and ultimately helped Luke Cage take his place. While it’s not confirmed if Mike Colter will reprise his role as Luke Cage, or if Finn Jones’ Iron Fist will appear, the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil suggests the possibility of the Defenders team reuniting in *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2.

With the second season of *Daredevil: Born Again* on the way, several other Marvel projects might show how Kingpin controls New York City. Jon Bernthal is returning as the Punisher in a special presentation in 2026, continuing the story after his escape from Kingpin’s prison in *Born Again*. Also in July 2026, *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* is scheduled for release. While not confirmed, this film could feature Spider-Man dealing with the consequences of Kingpin’s strict rules and ban on vigilantes, and could even lead to a confrontation between Spider-Man and Kingpin.

Vincent D’Onofrio recently mentioned that Kingpin’s appearance in Marvel’s big-screen movies was limited due to an agreement between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. However, their collaboration seems to be improving, and with Sony’s Spider-Man Universe winding down after *Kraven the Hunter*, Kingpin might finally appear in a Marvel movie. Even if a full movie isn’t possible right away, he could still star in a longer, movie-like story released as a Disney+ Special Presentation. It would be fantastic to see Kingpin as the villain in a team-up between the Defenders and Spider-Man.
