Hideo Kojima has revealed the first details of his upcoming horror game, OD, which is being developed with Xbox Game Studios and has been in the works for a while.
The trailer is filmed mainly as if you’re seeing it through someone’s eyes, and it strongly reminds viewers of the famous playable teaser the director created for the cancelled Silent Hills game on PlayStation 4.
The new footage reveals the actors who will star in the film: Sophia Lillis (briefly seen at the end of the trailer), Udo Kier, and Hunter Schafer. Schafer was previously considered for the role of Zelda in Sony’s live-action movie before the casting was made official.

So, this new game is built in Unreal Engine 5 instead of the Decima Engine that Kojima Productions used for Death Stranding. Pretty cool! But honestly, we still have no idea what platforms it’s coming to or when it’ll actually be released. It’s all still a mystery!
The trailer does end with the message: “For all players and screamers.”
It’s likely this game will eventually be released on the PS5, now that Microsoft appears to be focusing less on keeping games exclusive to their platforms.
But given the lack of a release date, we suspect it’ll still be several years away anyway.
What are your thoughts on the trailer? Is this something you’re looking forward to?
