The best career mode challenges in FC 26
Oldham Athletic
- Transfer Budget: £0.88m
Oldham has returned to the English Football League, and now it’s your challenge to lead them all the way to the Premier League! You’ll need to work your way up through the divisions, building your team with new players and striving to reach the top of English football.
Starting with limited funds means this will be a lengthy project, and you can expect to invest many hours into it.
Real Oviedo
- Transfer Budget: £1.8m
Real Oviedo has an incredible story: when the club was on the verge of collapse, its supporters rallied together and bought enough shares to save it. Now, it’s largely fan-owned and playing in La Liga, thanks in part to the leadership of local star Santi Cazorla.
Santi might be getting older, but his skill in midfield can still be a huge asset as you try to stay up after being promoted. After that, it’s down to your decisions.
Sunderland
- Transfer Budget: £35m
Sunderland earned promotion through the playoffs and have shown they can compete with established Premier League teams since returning to the league. However, can they stay up and continue to improve?
Régis Le Bris set a high standard, and the question is whether the new manager can maintain a solid mid-table position, and potentially even compete for a spot in European competition?
Arsenal
- Transfer Budget: £131m
Mikel Arteta’s team has consistently finished as runners-up in the Premier League for the past three seasons, and they invested heavily in new players during the recent transfer window.
Can you lead Arsenal to their first league title in years? You’ll have a strong defense and plenty of exciting attacking players to help you do it.
Schalke 04
- Transfer Budget: £5.12m
After being relegated two seasons ago, Schalke 04 didn’t immediately bounce back to the top league, but they’re determined to try again this season.
The club recently let go of its technical director, but it still presents an exciting challenge with some good players. Getting promoted to the Bundesliga is one thing, but staying there will be the real test.
Sampdoria
- Transfer Budget: £6.91m
Sampdoria, recently relegated from the top flight, has around £7 million to invest as they try to climb back up to Serie A, giving them a relatively strong financial position in the second division.
Okay, so the tricky part of this is going to be managing the team. I’ve got a lot of loaned players, which is great right now, but I know most of them will head back to their original clubs at the end of the season. It’s gonna be tough keeping things consistent with so much potential turnover!
MSV Duisburg
- Transfer Budget: £1.29m
Man, it’s wild to think MSV Duisburg was a Bundesliga team way back in 2008! Now, I’m watching them grind it out in the third division, but they actually got promoted last year, so things are looking up for them. It’s a pretty big fall from grace, but I’m glad to see they’re climbing their way back.
Okay, so they’ve had a pretty decent start to the season, but now it’s up to me to take them all the way and win the German league! It’s a tough challenge, but I’m ready to try and rebuild them into a top team.
Cardiff City
- Transfer Budget: £4.99m
Everyone is currently focused on Wrexham, but Cardiff City has been relegated to League One, the third level of English football. Despite this, they have a fantastic stadium and the second-largest budget for signing players in the league.
The team has a lot of skilled players, like Chris Willock and Calum Chambers, which gives them a good chance of returning to the Championship.
Inter Miami
- Transfer Budget: £31.15m
Taking charge at Inter Miami isn’t a huge hurdle. They have Lionel Messi, who’s still playing at an incredibly high level, and he’s joined by former Barcelona teammates like Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suarez.
At the very least, this offers the MLS club an opportunity to develop future talent. Which players could they attract to the United States?
Manchester United
- Transfer Budget: £152m
Manchester United has gotten off to a difficult start this season. While the team needs significant changes to its roster, they did add some promising attacking players during the recent transfer window, including Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo.
Revamping the midfield could restore success to Manchester United, but the club might need to sell some current players to fund new signings.
