The most popular review for djay, the music mixing app from Algoriddim, on the Microsoft Store says it all.
“Very good, but Spotify plug in would make it much better!”
Great news for DJs! Starting today, djay users on Windows and Mac can now access and mix the entire Spotify music library.
From the official announcement:
Spotify Premium users can now easily access and mix millions of songs directly within the djay app with a simple login. Whether you’re creating a playlist for a party or discovering new artists, djay lets you quickly add songs and blend them smoothly, automatically matching the beats. You can use the app’s built-in DJ features or connect your own DJ equipment for a more hands-on experience.

Okay, so here’s the deal – you just need to be a Spotify Premium member, which makes total sense. If you are, you get access to *everything* you already have on Spotify. Seriously, all your saved playlists, plus all of Spotify’s curated ones – the whole library is unlocked!
If you’d rather listen than create, djay’s Automix feature also works with your Spotify library, letting you relax and enjoy the music.
I haven’t really used djay before, even though I’ve known about it for a while. I usually prefer listening to music rather than making it. However, the new Spotify integration definitely makes me want to give it a try.
This app really needs music to work with! I have a collection of local digital files, but most of my music comes from Spotify, along with my CDs and vinyl. I wouldn’t have been able to use it effectively without a good music library!
This feature could attract a lot of new users. While Spotify isn’t the only music streaming service available, it’s currently the most popular – many people rely on it exclusively for their music. The team at Algoriddim, creators of the djay app, clearly feels the same way.
The CEO, Karim Morsy, said:
As a djay user, I’m so excited about this! It’s a huge step forward for making DJing available to anyone. Whether you’re just starting out and learning on your laptop, or you’re a pro with all the gear, now you can access Spotify’s massive music library right within the app. It’s awesome to finally be able to mix and play the songs I already love on Spotify in a completely new way!
To reach your audience, you need to be where they already spend their time. For PC gamers, that’s Steam, and for music lovers, it’s Spotify. Great news – it’s launching today in 51 countries, and Windows users can update through the Microsoft Store now.
