It’s been two years since Brie Larson last appeared as Captain Marvel in a live-action Marvel movie, but she’s back – with a shocking change – in the animated series *Marvel Zombies*. Larson has played Carol Danvers, a former pilot who gained incredible powers after an accident with a powerful engine, since her first appearance in *Captain Marvel*. She’s since appeared in *Avengers: Endgame* and *The Marvels*, expanding her story and establishing her as one of the MCU’s strongest heroes. Now, *Marvel Zombies* takes her power to a whole new level.
The first episode of *Marvel Zombies* follows Kamala Khan, Riri Williams, and Kate Bishop as they journey from New York to Ohio. They’re hoping a transmitter they found holds the cure for the Quantum Virus, which has created a zombie outbreak affecting millions. Along the way, they face numerous dangers, particularly after passing through a massive canyon carved into a mountain. The canyon is the result of a continuous fight between the zombie version of Captain Marvel and the Eternal Ikaris (played by Richard Madden in *Eternals*), highlighting the incredible power of Carol Danvers.
Marvel Just Admitted Captain Marvel Is A God

The first episode of *Marvel Zombies* revealed that Captain Marvel and Ikaris are locked in an endless fight, unable to win against each other. This shows Captain Marvel is just as powerful as Ikaris, a being with god-like cosmic abilities created by Arishem. It confirms Captain Marvel is among the strongest heroes in the MCU, but also a potentially unpredictable and dangerous threat within the *Marvel Zombies* universe.
Fans have debated whether Captain Marvel’s power level matches that of the Eternals, and the series *Marvel Zombies* now offers a definitive answer. At her peak, Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) is as powerful as Ikaris, one of the strongest Eternals. Unlike most of the Eternals who each have one unique ability, Ikaris possesses a wide range of impressive powers. Their fights are incredibly destructive, resulting in a never-ending tie.
As a huge Marvel fan, I have to say, seeing Captain Marvel turn evil is genuinely scary. It really hit me when she just…killed Kate Bishop so quickly, with no hesitation. It was a brutal reminder of how powerful she is. While she might not be able to beat *all* the Eternals at once – even Ikaris had trouble with his own team – she could definitely take them on one-on-one. In the *Marvel Zombies* universe, it’s even shown that she’s destined to fight Ikaris forever – or until he literally falls apart! That really drives home just how incredibly strong Captain Marvel is, even against someone as powerful as an Eternal.
