Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has been a hit with both critics and players, successfully continuing the story started in the first remake game.
Fans grew worried about how well the game was selling when Square Enix, the publisher, announced that sales weren’t meeting their typically high goals.
I know a lot of us fans were getting anxious, but thankfully the game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, recently spoke up and tried to reassure everyone. It’s good to hear he’s addressing our worries!
Speaking to Automaton, here’s what Hamaguchi said when asked about Rebirth’s sales:
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is performing strongly on PlayStation 5 and PC. We’ve heard some fan concerns, but we’re confident we’ll be able to create a fantastic and polished third game.
So, despite Square Enix’s early comments about sales, it would seem the game is doing just fine.
Furthermore, Hamaguchi seems very confident in the third game in the FF7 remake series.
Development is progressing smoothly, and the game is really coming together,” he reported. “Much of the game is already playable, and we have a clear vision for its final form. The team is now focused on polishing and improving everything.
Soon, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be available on Xbox and Nintendo consoles, and the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on those same systems will increase its popularity even more.
We don’t have a release date for the third game yet, but development seems to be progressing well, so fans shouldn’t be concerned.
