We always find ourselves double-checking Ananta’s work, which is a good sign, at least for the time being.
This open-world game, developed by Chinese studio Naked Rain and formerly called Project Mugen, has been gaining a lot of attention since it was first announced a few years ago. And with each new trailer, it just looks even more impressive and over-the-top.
Ananta recently released a new gameplay video (you can see it above!). It appears to showcase the beginning of the game, featuring a mix of hand-to-hand fighting, shooting sequences where you don’t control movement, and a thrilling car chase.

Throughout the story, the protagonist, Chenxiu, delivers witty remarks similar to Nathan Drake, and the production quality is clearly evident in the impressive animations and action sequences.
While much of what was shown appears to be pre-planned and doesn’t represent the full open-world experience, the production quality is still top-tier. And importantly, Ananta is free to play.
Just to clarify, the game won’t rely on random character draws, or ‘gacha’ systems. The developer recently announced there won’t be loot boxes to unlock new characters. Instead, they’ll be making money by selling cosmetic items – things like outfits and appearances.
What do you make of Ananta? Is there a catch? Rub your eyes in the comments section below.
