Lewis Hamilton is sharing a difficult update on a beloved family member.
Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton’s bulldog, Roscoe, is currently fighting pneumonia. As Roscoe’s condition gets worse, Lewis is asking his fans for their support.
On September 26th, he shared on Instagram that his dog, Roscoe, was very sick. Roscoe had pneumonia again and was having trouble breathing, so he was hospitalized and put under sedation. Sadly, his heart stopped at one point, but doctors were able to restart it. He is now in a coma.
Lewis shared that they weren’t sure if the patient would regain consciousness, but they planned to try and wake him tomorrow. He expressed his gratitude for everyone’s prayers and support, adding that he was staying with the patient.
Alongside a sad message from the Ferrari driver were pictures of Roscoe, his bulldog, in the hospital. The photos showed Roscoe connected to an oxygen machine while Lewis stayed by his side.
Roscoe has become well-known thanks to his travels around the world with Lewis, who is 40 years old. He’s also appeared in commercials and even had a role in the recent *F1* movie. Plus, Roscoe is quite the social media star, with over a million followers on Instagram!
Lewis described the dog as incredibly kind and sweet in an August interview with Vogue. He explained that the dog is approachable and has never shown aggression towards anyone. He’s very easygoing and doesn’t bother other dogs, making him perhaps the most relaxed dog imaginable-except when he spots a bowling ball or football!
Until he sees a ball—or his dad’s luxury goods.
Lewis playfully said his friend loves expensive sneakers. He explained that his friend often borrows and takes his Dior trainers, calling him ‘bougie’ – meaning he enjoys a luxurious lifestyle.
But he also enjoys the simpler moments, too.
Lewis recalled going to the movies with him a couple of times. The first time was to see *Guardians of the Galaxy*, and it was just the two of them. He remembered it being a 3D showing, and he playfully put the 3D glasses on his companion, who sat watching the movie for about five minutes. Lewis found it so funny he couldn’t concentrate on the film itself – he was too busy watching his friend’s reaction.
He went on to explain that the man seemed really disoriented. Then, he actually fell asleep in his chair and snored throughout the entire movie, which made everyone around him laugh.
