All Ripper Drill Sites In Borderlands 4 (The Best Way to Farm Legendary Gear In Early Game)

In *Borderlands 4*, finding powerful weapons and equipment quickly is key to success. You’ll get loot from almost everything you do, but the fastest way to get great gear early on is by visiting Ripper Sites. These special boss arenas become available as you progress through the story in each area. You can even replay them as many times as you like using Moxi’s Encore Machine – if you have enough in-game currency – to repeatedly farm some of the best items in the game. Here’s a guide to all the Ripper Site locations and the gear you can earn by defeating their bosses.

Borderlands 4 Ripper Drill Site Map

The map shows where you can find each Ripper Site. You’ll discover these locations as you play the main story, but we’ve listed them all here for your convenience. It’s best to start with the three Ripper Sites in the south when you begin Borderlands 4. Here’s a complete guide to each Site, using the numbers from the map to help you find them.

1) The Prospects

  • Location – Hungering Plain
  • Drill Site Boss – Sidney Pointlegs
  • Notable Loot – Swarm, Disc Jockey, Noisy Cricket

Sidney has three layers of health, so it’s best to equip weapons with different elemental effects. Use Shock first, then Incendiary, and finally either Corrosive or Cryo to break through each health bar. The Disc Jockey is a powerful weapon that makes your projectiles more damaging as they ricochet off surfaces.

2) The Pitted Stain

  • Location – Idolator’s Noose
  • Drill Site Bosses – Frank the Furnace, Hank the Welder, and Sal the Engineer
  • Notable Loot – Chuck, Chaumurky, Bloody Lumberjack

You’ll be facing three enemies in this fight, so weapons with Splash damage are really useful. Regardless of your approach, try to stay far away and use Corrosive and Cryo to break through their armor, then switch to Incendiary to damage their health. The Chuck is a great Tediore rifle that lets you throw another gun whenever you reload.

3) The Old Scrape

  • Location – Cuspid Climb
  • Drill Site Bosses – Saddleback and The Immortal Boneface
  • Notable Loot – Lucian’s Flank, Hellwalker, War Paint

At the start of the battle, prioritize defeating Saddleback. Remember, the Immortal Boneface won’t go down until you eliminate the Meathead first. Use corrosive and incendiary attacks on Saddleback, and shock and incendiary attacks on Boneface. Lucian’s Flank ability lets you regain ammo with critical hits, so skilled players should have a constant supply of bullets.

4) The Lowering March

  • Location – Stoneblood Forest
  • Drill Site Boss – The Battle Wagon
  • Notable Loot – Kaleidoslode, Finnity XXX-L, Compleation

The Battle Wagon is a huge elephant covered in enemies called Rippers. To defeat it, focus on dealing fire damage to its large health bar, but also try to quickly eliminate the Rippers to prevent them from bothering you. The Finnity XXX-L sniper rifle is powerful because of its Pipin’ Hot Barrels feature – it lets you keep firing even while overheating without using up ammunition.

5) Tendercage

  • Location – Lopside
  • Drill Site Bosses – Pango and Bango
  • Notable Loot – Phantom Flame, Stray, Prince Harming

Pango and Bango can be challenging opponents thanks to their rocket launchers, but they’re actually quite vulnerable to fire damage. The Phantom Flame pistol is useful because it allows you to zoom in and lock onto enemies. Once locked on, you can quickly empty the entire magazine and defeat them easily.

6) Saw’s Clench

  • Location – Ruined Sumplands
  • Drill Site Bosses – Gruntabulous Vork, Baby Grunt, and Lil’ Grunt
  • Notable Loot – Potato Thrower IV, Spinning Blade, Wombo Combo

You’ll likely struggle against these three flying bosses on your first attempt. Use Shock and Incendiary weapons to break their shields and reduce their health, and remember to dodge their attacks. The Wombo Combo is a powerful assault rifle that fires rockets with every shot, making it excellent for dealing high damage.
