Microsoft and Asus Tried to Reduce ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X Pricing – Rumor

Even though the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are quickly selling out globally, customer reactions to their prices have been varied. The standard Ally costs $599.99, and the more powerful Ally X is priced at $999.99 – both are considered expensive options for gamers.

During last month’s Gamescom, XboxEra’s Jon Clarke reported that Microsoft and Asus were considering lowering prices by covering some of the cost. Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming confirmed this was the idea “at the time,” but it seems they weren’t able to follow through with it for unknown reasons. This likely explains why a price wasn’t revealed with the release date.

Microsoft has recently faced another setback with price increases for all Xbox Series X/S consoles in the US (you can find more information here). While it’s too early to tell if this will hurt sales in the long run, initial reactions from customers have been positive.

The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X will be available starting October 16th in 38 countries, with plans to expand to more locations soon. Keep an eye out for future announcements.
