Season 3 of Trigger Point is generating buzz with the release of a new trailer and several fresh images. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of explosives officer Lana Washington (played by Vicky McClure) and the rest of her team.
The story continues with the team being asked to look into a bomb threat, which quickly turns out to be the beginning of a dangerous and personal attack on certain people. This horrific campaign specifically targets individual members of the group.
Lana and her team are in a race against time to stop the bomber from hurting more people, and as they do, they’re getting closer to understanding the reasons behind this violent “revenge” plot.
Following significant character losses, the cast of Trigger Point now features both returning actors and several new additions. Among them is Jason Flemyng, known for his roles in Prime Target and Boiling Point, who plays Steven Wyles (pictured below).

Despite facing difficult setbacks in the past, Lana’s team – including Eric Shango as Danny, Nabil Elouahabi as Hass, Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan, and Maanuv Thiara as DCI Amar Batra – are returning to continue their work with the Met Police.
Also joining the cast is Mark Rowley – you might recognize him as Finan, the honorable warrior from the historical series The Last Kingdom – who will be playing Rich Manning in season 3 of Trigger Point (shown below, on the far right).

The series will once again be overseen by Jed Mercurio, the creator of Line of Duty, alongside other producers. Chris Brandon, who wrote for Bloodlands, is writing the script. He previously collaborated with Amanda Duke to co-write the finale of season 2.
As a huge fan of Trigger Point, I’m really excited to hear that Jamie Donoghue (who I loved on A Discovery of Witches and Doctor Who) is directing season 3! It’s great that Audrey Cooke is back too – she’s done some fantastic work on shows like DI Ray, Bloodlands, and even Death in Paradise. Knowing she’s returning definitely gives me confidence in this next season.

Those who enjoyed Trigger Point can anticipate even more suspenseful scenes. Lana and her team will continue to confront a diverse range of explosive devices, each presenting unique challenges and complex technical details.
Even though things are incredibly stressful, there’s still some happiness to be found. Season 2 concluded with Danny, Lana’s trusted assistant, getting married, and it will be fascinating to see if settling down has made him rethink the dangers of his job.
