Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is a fantastic reimagining of the beloved classic SEGA franchise, and a downloadable content (DLC) pack arriving next year will give players even more incentive to return to the game. It’s great news for fans!
The side-scrolling action game, first revealed in August, is getting the SEGA Villains Stage DLC. This downloadable content will introduce three well-known villains from various SEGA franchises, allowing players to battle them.
Many fans are familiar with Dr. Eggman, the villain from Sonic the Hedgehog. Now, the publisher has revealed the second antagonist who will test Joe Musashi’s skills: Death Adder from Golden Axe. This adds another classic villain to the mix.
As a long-time fan, I’ve always loved Death Adder! He’s a classic villain from the old-school beat-’em-up games, and he’s this huge, imposing figure who swings the golden axe around as he tries to gain more power. He’s really a mainstay of the series, you know?
The downloadable content will feature one last villain who hasn’t been shown off yet. Considering the first two villains come from the Mega Drive/Genesis era, we predict this final character will also be a classic throwback.
Golden Axe is part of a group of game series that SEGA has promised to revive; Shinobi: Art of Vengeance was the first title they released as part of this effort.
