The highly anticipated Digimon Story: Time Stranger is almost here, with the release date quickly drawing near. It marks the return of this beloved series to the world of gaming.

This is the seventh game in the Digimon Story RPG series, and it’s the newest one. The previous game, Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, came out in western markets a long time ago – back in 2018.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger will be available on PC starting October 2nd, 2025, at 11 PM BST, and on consoles beginning October 3rd, 2025, at 5 AM.

What platforms can play Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Digimon Story: Time Stranger launches on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

So, they officially announced this game way back in 2017, during the PS4 and Xbox One days. But because it took so long to develop, it won’t actually run on either of those last-generation consoles. It’s a bit disappointing, but I understand that things change during development! You can find more details on their official website.

The same is true, interestingly, for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles.

With that in mind, we believe a port to the Nintendo Switch 2 is likely if the game performs well commercially. However, whether it will also be released on the original Nintendo Switch is uncertain and depends on various factors.
