Nicole Kidman is staying booked and busy.
Even while going through a divorce from Keith Urban after 19 years together, the Moulin Rouge star is staying busy with lots of film and television projects scheduled for release in 2026.
Nicole has just finished filming the follow-up to the 1998 film Practical Magic, along with the series Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Scarpetta. The filming for Scarpetta took place in Nashville, where the 58-year-old actress currently lives.
She will soon begin filming the third season of Big Little Lies, working with Reese Witherspoon. However, it’s still uncertain whether original cast members Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley will reprise their roles.
I’m so excited for everything Nicole has going on! She’s incredibly busy right now, getting ready to film the A24 movie Discretion. On top of that, she’s not only starring in a series based on the book Girls and Their Horses, but she’s also executive producing it – talk about a multi-talent!
Interestingly, her show Lioness on Paramount+ has been picked up for a third season. This show is produced by Taylor Sheridan, who also executive produces the upcoming music competition The Road alongside Blake Shelton. The Road features her soon-to-be ex-husband, Keith, as he searches for the next rising star in country music. (Besides the reality show, Keith is also touring until mid-October.)
Nicole had a very full year in 2024, appearing in the shows The Perfect Couple, Lioness, and Expats, and in the films Babygirl and A Family Affair. Being this busy is typical for her.
It’s widely known that the Oscar-winning actress has a very busy schedule. At the 2025 Golden Globes ceremony, host Nikki Glaser even made a joke about it during her opening monologue, saying, “Thank you to Keith Urban for playing the guitar so much that she wants to leave and make 18 movies a year. Keep strumming you kooky koala.”
However, Nicole says she welcomed a bit of downtime in 2025, noting that this year wasn’t as hectic as it might seem. She explained it was “actually not as crazy.”
“I was taking on a lot more projects last year,” she explained to The Hollywood Reporter in March. “This year, I have Holland and Nine Perfect Strangers, and after that, I’m free for the rest of the year. That’s just how it goes!”
Currently, Nicole appears to be prioritizing her children with Keith, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. This comes as she and the country singer completed a Parenting Plan, which was reviewed by TopMob News on September 30th. That was also the day Nicole-who is also a mother to Bella Cruise, 32, and Connor Cruise, 30, with her former spouse Tom Cruise-formally filed for divorce, stating that their differences were impossible to resolve.
The documents show she’d spend 306 days a year with the children, while Keith would have them for 59 days, and the parents would take turns during holidays.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban quietly separated and began living separately around the start of summer, according to information obtained by TopMob News. Several significant events throughout the summer then contributed to their decision to file for divorce.
As a lifestyle expert, I followed his incredible journey this year! It all began with the High and Alive World Tour kicking off in Alabama. Then, he spent the entire summer touring – I’m talking all across the U.S., Canada, and even Australia! It was quite the adventure, and fans were thrilled to see him perform live.
They were last seen together in public at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in Nashville, and witnesses reported they were laughing and smiling.
To celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary in June, Kidman shared a picture of the couple with the message, “Happy Anniversary Baby.” Urban responded with a heart emoji, but he didn’t make a post himself.
People were surprised when the country singer suddenly stopped an interview after a question about the connection between Kidman and her Zac Efron in the movie A Family Affair.
A radio host on Australia’s Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max in the Morning said, “Considering your wife, Nicole Kidman, is constantly starring in so many successful movies and TV shows, I was wondering: What does Keith Urban think when he sees her in love scenes with younger, handsome actors like Zac Efron on TV and radio?”
Suddenly, Urban disappeared from the call.
“He’s no longer connected to Zoom,” a radio staff member explained. “It seems his team ended the call, likely because they didn’t want us to bring up that question.”
His rep didn’t respond to TopMob’s request for comment at the time.
Sources at TopMob News have discovered that the Practical Magic actress has applied for Portuguese residency, and Urban is reportedly planning to do the same.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Keith couldn’t attend the appointment in Portugal because he’s currently touring the U.S. The source told TopMob that applicants must be physically present to apply for the visa. He plans to submit his application when his tour schedule allows.
At the time, the source said both planned to maintain a permanent residence in Nashville as well.
As a longtime fan, I was so fascinated to hear the couple’s eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, talk about what it’s like growing up with them! In a recent interview, she explained that they really only have two big rules at home. It’s amazing to see how they keep things simple, and I loved hearing it straight from Sunday Rose herself!
She explained to Nylon that she faced two main limitations. First, she wasn’t able to pursue any fashion-related jobs until she turned 16. Second, her education always had to be her top priority. She admitted that she initially disliked this rule, but now she’s grateful for it, saying it helps her stay focused and positive.
Nicole Kidman posted some photos on Sunday showing her summer with her daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. However, her husband wasn’t featured in the collection of images she shared on Instagram.
“Summer memories,” the actress wrote. “Now back to school.”
I was so relieved in August when Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s lawyer finalized the Parenting Plan. It included a Child Support Worksheet that clearly stated they would be “joint custodians” of their wonderful daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
However, the Oscar-winning actor was officially designated as the main parent where the children live. This means the girls spend 306 days each year with their mother and 59 days with their father (Keith Urban will have the children every other weekend).
Neither will pay child support, according to the doc obtained by TopMob News.
The parents will maintain a loving, stable, and supportive relationship with their child, even after their divorce, the document stated. They agree to avoid speaking negatively about each other or anyone in the other parent’s family. They will also encourage each child to continue loving both parents and feel comfortable with both families.”
Urban finalized their divorce agreement, having it officially notarized in August, according to documents obtained by TopMob News.
The document revealed that Kidman planned to file for divorce from him because of differences they couldn’t resolve. It also mentioned that neither person would receive alimony or financial support after the divorce.
The same date, he also signed off on the Parenting Plan.
One week following Urban’s actions, the actress also had the Marital Dissolution Agreement officially notarized and signed the Parenting Plan.
On the same day, a judge approved an order requiring both celebrities to attend a required parenting class, unless they request a waiver, according to documents obtained by TopMob News.
Even though she had already signed the necessary papers, she continued to wear her engagement ring while attending an event at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
The split between the couple made news, with TopMob News reporting that they-who began dating back in 2005-had decided to end their relationship privately.
The Big Little Lies actress has officially filed for divorce, stating that they separated on the day the paperwork was submitted: September 30, 2025.
The couple’s Marital Dissolution Agreement and Parenting Plan were both filed with a Tennessee court on the same day for approval.
