In Season 3, Sylvester Stallone’s character, Dwight Manfredi, is dealing with increased pressure. Jeremiah Dunmire is directly threatening the capo, as seen in Episode 2. Robert Patrick portrays the intimidating leader of the Dixie mafia, following his role as Sheriff William McDowell in Taylor Sheridan’s 1923. Dunmire has quickly shown how ruthless he can be, eliminating anyone who stands in his way during the first few episodes of the season.
Following his menacing behavior in “Blood and Bourbon,” Dunmire continued his aggressive approach in Episode 2, making a clear statement that he won’t be intimidated. In “The Fifty,” Jeremiah’s murder of a liquor distributor who spoke with Dwight reveals that Manfredi and his team in Tulsa face significant challenges. As the death toll rises and Dunmire issues a direct threat, the situation is poised to worsen, and things aren’t looking promising for Dwight.
Jeremiah Dunmire Makes A Personal Threat To Dwight In Episode 2
In “The Fifty,” Jeremiah Dunmire unexpectedly enters Dwight Manfredi’s bar and casino, the Bred-2-Buck, to deliver a frightening warning directly to him. He tells Dwight that his family has controlled the area for many generations, and that he is “obligated to destroy everything [Dwight has] built and everyone [he loves], piece by piece, limb by limb,” all for the benefit of himself and his future family members. Dunmire is direct and makes it very clear that he opposes Dwight’s power.
What Jeremiah Dunmire said to Dwight makes his goals obvious. However, Manfredi refuses to give in. He immediately counters Dunmire’s move, warning that he’ll destroy the legacy Dunmire’s family has spent generations building. Manfredi even implies that Dunmire coming to his place shows he’s feeling intimidated. Nevertheless, Dwight also has good reason to be worried and should begin treating Jeremiah’s threats with more weight.
Jeremiah Dunmire Continues Proving He’s Tulsa King’s Worst Villain Yet
Even though Dwight dismissed the danger, to begin Tulsa King Season 3, Dunmire eliminated his long-standing enemy, Theodore Montague (Brett Rice), after Montague accepted a better deal from Dwight. Jeremiah demonstrated a complete lack of morals by murdering Theo and then burning his body inside his family home, effectively wiping out a significant portion of the legacy Theo had created.
Because of this, viewers have clearly witnessed that Jeremiah consistently acts on his threats, even with just a hint that he’s constrained. Dunmire reinforces this when Dwight goes to see the distiller’s previous distributor, who quickly tells Dunmire about the meeting. Jeremiah demonstrates his ruthlessness once more, eliminating a business associate solely for having a connection with Manfredi, despite the fact that he rejected Manfredi’s advances.
Jeremiah has repeatedly shown the audience he’s determined to follow through on his threat to Dwight. Even if Dwight stops him, Jeremiah is capable of causing significant harm during a confrontation. What’s particularly concerning is Dunmire’s threat against Dwight’s family – Dwight values them above all else – and viewers should expect him to attack Manfredi with intense rage.
Joanne Manfredi Is In Danger After Dunmire’s Threat In “The Fifty”
As a total film buff, I’m seriously worried about Dwight’s sister, Joanne Manfredi (Annabella Sciorra), after what happened in Episode 2. Tyson (Jay Will) points this out to his dad in “The Fifty,” but the fact is, Joanne’s name is on the deed to Montague Distillers, which instantly makes her a huge target. And let’s not forget, she’s Dwight’s *only* blood relative left in Tulsa. So, if Dunmire is as cold and calculating as he seems, you can bet he’s already thinking about going after Joanne. It just feels inevitable, you know?
Although Joanne hasn’t been involved in any headline-making events, she’s become a really important . She’s been with Dwight ever since he got out, first meeting up with him at their brother’s funeral and later helping him with his work in Tulsa. Now, Joanne is a fully integrated member of Dwight’s team, making her a highly valued addition. Even if she weren’t actively working with the Tulsa crew, Joanne is considered family, and that’s what Jeremiah prioritizes.
Considering Joanne Manfredi’s important role in building Dwight’s distillery and the fact that she’s his only family in Oklahoma, Jeremiah Dunmire would be making a mistake not to go after her. The bigger concern is whether Dwight will anticipate Dunmire’s next move. He didn’t seem to take Jeremiah seriously when he dealt with Montague, so hopefully Dwight will protect Joanne in Tulsa King before it’s too late.
