Virgin River lovers will need to be patient for Season 7, but Netflix has added a popular drama series to keep viewers entertained in the meantime. The show, based on Robyn Carr’s books, has been incredibly successful since it first aired in 2019, and even boosted the popularity of other TV dramas on Netflix, such as Sullivan’s Crossing. As Netflix continues to add new content for October 2025, it’s included two seasons of a drama that Virgin River fans are sure to enjoy.
As a big fan of heartwarming dramas, I’ve been really enjoying The Way Home. It’s a fantasy show on Hallmark that revolves around three generations of women in the charming little town of Port Haven. The story beautifully explores how they reconnect and deal with their family’s complicated history, all while trying to find their way back to each other. It was created by Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Marly Reed, and first aired in January 2023. So far, there have been three seasons, and a fourth is already in the works! Great news for those of us with Netflix accounts – Seasons 1 and 2 of The Way Home became available on October 1st. And if you’re like me and can’t get enough, don’t worry – Seasons 3 and 4 will be streaming on Netflix next year. I’m so excited!
The Way Home Is the Perfect Show for Virgin River Fans
If you enjoy comforting shows like Virgin River and are searching for something new to watch this fall, The Way Home is a great choice. The series focuses on the lives and connections within a small, tight-knit community, offering the feel-good stories and relationship complexities that Virgin River viewers appreciate, but with an added supernatural element. This makes The Way Home both comforting and captivating. The plot is consistently interesting and full of surprises, yet it remains relatable thanks to its focus on the Landry women and their family relationships, adding emotional weight and complexity. The show also boasts strong acting from its cast, including Sadie Laflamme-Snow, Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams, and Andie MacDowell.
Right now is a great time to start watching The Way Home, and it’s not only because of the show’s warm, fall-like atmosphere and the beautiful, charming Canadian seaside town where it takes place. The series has already been picked up for Season 4, so if you enjoy it, you’re sure to get more episodes – and they’re coming to Netflix soon! Season 3 will be available on the platform in February 2026, and Season 4 will follow in late 2026 after first airing on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark+.
