19 Kids and Counting’s Amy Duggar Reveals Shocking Show Earnings

Amy Duggar King doesn’t have a lot to account for when it comes to her 19 Kids and Counting earnings.

The 30-year-old-who is related to Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar as their niece, and is also a cousin to their 19 children-has stated that she hasn’t earned any money from being on the TLC show. She said she’s received “zero” financially from her appearances.

My uncle,” she shared on the October 1st episode of The Viall Files, “explained to all of us that 19 Kids and Counting wasn’t just a TV show-it was considered a religious mission. He said we were participating to spread positivity and faith, and that God had chosen us for this purpose.

Amy continued, “Was there any compensation? Nada.”

Oh my gosh, you won’t *believe* what I just read! The author of Holy Disruptor: Shattering the Shiny Facade by Getting Louder with the Truth – seriously, that title just *gets* me – she actually said she “signed a contract blindly“! I mean, blindly?! It’s just…so her! I’m completely obsessed with everything she does, and this just proves she’s as real and unfiltered as I always knew. Everything makes so much more sense now!

She believes the show, which aired from 2008 to 2015, earned “over $6 million” throughout its 10 seasons.

You know, I’ve always been impressed with Jim Bob, who’s 60. He’s incredibly sharp, truly. He’s a real businessman and he just knows what he’s doing. I’ve seen it firsthand.

TopMob News has reached out to Jim Bob for comment but hasn’t heard back.

Amy isn’t the first Duggar family member to claim Jim Bob hasn’t paid them fully. His daughter Jill Duggar Dillard-known from the shows 19 Kids and Counting and its sequel Counting On-has made similar accusations.

Honestly, it still gets to me. I mean, I never got a single penny. Not a check, not cash, absolutely nothing,” I told them in the Shiny, Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets docuseries last year. It’s just… for seven and a half years of my life, years where I was *working*, I wasn’t paid anything at all. It’s still hard to believe.

The 34-year-old claimed that Jim Bob later offered his children a one-time payment for being on TV, but they would have to ā€œsign another dealā€ to actually receive the money.

Jill said she and her husband Derick Dillard “were automatically like, ‘We’re done.'”

The couple stopped appearing on Counting On in 2017, four years before the show ended. Jill explained in a 2020 YouTube video, “That was when we hired a lawyer and were able to get some of the funds back. It took a while, but we managed it.”

According to Derick, what they got “probably ended up being a little more than minimum wage.”

The 36-year-old added, ā€œBut we were able to recover at least something.ā€

Jim Bob hasn’t spoken publicly about the claims Jill and Derick made regarding not being paid. But he and Michelle, 59, have strongly criticized Shiny, Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets.

The recent ‘documentary’ about our family is upsetting because it shows people we care about being hurt by the media and others who wish us harm,” the couple said in a statement posted on their website when the docuseries came out. “Just like any other family, we’ve had our happy moments and difficult times – they’re just playing out publicly.

They explained, “This so-called ‘documentary’ portrays many people and things negatively and in an exaggerated manner, which unfortunately reflects current trends in entertainment.”

For everything to know about the Duggar family, read on.

These two began their love story in high school and eventually became parents to 19 children and grandparents to more than 36 grandchildren.

Michelle remembers accepting Christianity when she was 15 years old. One evening, Jim Bob was going door-to-door for his Baptist church, and he came across the Ruark family’s home. A friend had mentioned that a ā€œnewly saved cheerleaderā€ who went to school lived there, leading him to knock on their door.

Michelle was invited to Sunday school at Jim Bob’s church, and he told her he prayed they could become each other’s spiritual guides-although Michelle didn’t recall their first meeting being particularly striking. A year later, she applied for a job at the frozen yogurt store owned by Jim Bob’s parents. ā€œYou came up to the counter where I was working the cash register and introduced yourself,ā€ Michelle wrote in a letter posted on the family blog in 2017, celebrating Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd wedding anniversary. ā€œYou were a little shy, but very kind! I don’t remember a lot from that conversation, except that you eventually found the courage to ask me to go to your junior-senior banquet with you!ā€

She went to dinner with him at Shiloh Christian, but it was later, when they spent hours at her parents’ house talking about the Bible, that she realized she was falling for him. Michelle has explained, “From there, we believe our hearts were knit together.” They finished high school in May of 1984 and got married in July. Michelle was 17 years old, and Jim Bob was 19.

The couple dedicated themselves to God and each otherĀ for the long run.

Jim Bob previously served as a state legislator for Arkansas’s sixth district, holding a seat in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. During his time there, he was the vice chair of the House of Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He ran for U.S. Senate in 2002, but didn’t win the primary. He also sought the Republican nomination for Arkansas State Senate District 35 in 2006, but was unsuccessful.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, both qualified real estate agents, are known for their involvement in conservative activism-a part of their life that made them both strong advocates for and vocal opponents of 19 Kids and Counting (originally titled 17 Kids and Counting when it first aired in 2008).

As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.

The oldest Duggar child, Josh Duggar, was born on March 3, 1988. Like his parents, he became involved in conservative activism, working with the Family Research Council.

He resigned from his position after old police records from 2015 came to light, showing accusations that he had sexually abused several girls, including his sisters Jessa Duggar and Jill Duggar, while he was a teenager. In June of that year, Jessa spoke with Fox News to defend her brother, stating that the harsh things people were saying about Josh were ā€œso overboard and a lie, really. I mean people get mad at me for saying that, but I can say this because I was one of the victims.ā€

His wife, Anna Duggar-who he married on September 26, 2008, in a ceremony shown on 19 Kids and Counting-remained supportive, even after he confessed to infidelity.

In 2016, when he entered a treatment center, his parents described it as

Anna and her husband are parents to seven children: daughter Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), sons Michael (born June 15, 2011) and Marcus (born June 2, 2013). Shortly after a scandal became public, they welcomed their fourth child, Meredith, on July 16, 2015-the very same day TLC canceled 19 Kids. Their family continued to grow with son Mason Garett arriving on September 12, 2017, daughter Maryella Hope on November 27, 2019, and their seventh child, Madyson Lily, born on October 23, 2021.

An indictment was filed in federal court in April 2021, charging Josh with one count each of receiving and possessing child pornography. He entered a plea of not guilty to both charges. In 2022, Josh was convicted on both counts, though the judge later dismissed the possession charge. He was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison.

Soon after Josh arrived, Michelle became pregnant again, but sadly had a miscarriage. While Michelle and Jim Bob were still saddened by this loss and seeking direction from God, they were overjoyed to discover they were expecting twins.

It felt like a wonderful gift from above,” she shared with Love to Know. “It was like God was giving us strength and hope. We are still growing and learning every day. It’s quite rare, because I nurse my babies, but my children are born very close together. I have a baby, and then I’m pregnant again just eight months later. It’s just another unique thing God has allowed to happen in our lives.

John David Duggar and his twin sister Jana DuggarĀ were born on Jan. 12, 1990.

John David and Abbie-Grace Burnett married on November 3, 2018, after a quick romance and engagement. They had known each other for several years before finally meeting at a church event in Abbie’s home state of Oklahoma.

They welcomed daughterĀ Grace Annette Duggar on Jan. 7, 2020 and sonĀ Charlie Duggar in September 2022.

On their 30th birthday in January 2020, Jana wrote a heartfelt message: “Growing up, John and I were always asked if we had that ‘twin thing’-you know, that special connection where you feel what the other person is feeling or instinctively know what they’re thinking… Well, John, I always said no-but now I can honestly say that the moment little Gracie was born, I felt just as much happiness as you did, so I guess it really *is* real!”

Jana went on to say, “It’s really heartwarming to see you and Abbie as parents! You both seem to have a natural talent for it! And all the great qualities that make you such a good brother will definitely help you be an incredible dad.”

Jana saw 11 of her 18 siblings tie the knot before she met Stephen Wissmann. Interestingly, Stephen’s sister, Hannah Wissmann, is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah. Even though she sometimes felt discouraged, Jana believed everything happened according to God’s plan.

I didn’t always see the whole plan, but I trust that God knows what’s best for everyone. That’s why I’m choosing to get married a bit later in life,” Jana explained to People before her wedding on August 15, 2024. “We all have unique paths, and if we were all the same, life would be pretty dull!”

Just over a year later, the couple shared that they’re expecting their first baby.

Jill (Duggar) Dillard was born on May 17, 1991. Her relationship with Derick began much like her parents’ – they first met in December 2011. Derick, who lived about 45 minutes away, stopped by the Duggar home while caroling with his church group.

Jim Bob helped Jill and Derick meet, and they quickly connected through emails and Skype. That November, Jill and her father visited Derick in Nepal, and their relationship continued to blossom. In February 2014, Derick formally asked Jim Bob for Jill’s hand in marriage, and they wed on June 21, 2014. They now have three sons: Israel, born on April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.

In April 2024, Jill announced that she experienced a miscarriage while expecting her and Derick’s first daughter.

In the Amazon Prime Video documentary Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which first aired in June 2023, Jill and Derick discussed the issues and religious convictions connected to her family.

Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.

Jessa and Ben first connected at church, and he began courting her in 2013-this traditional way of starting a relationship was new to many viewers. Because the couple didn’t discuss their romantic interests before becoming engaged, Jim Bob explained to People magazine, “Courting involves getting to know each other with both families involved, spending time together as groups, and setting shared goals to see if marriage is right for them. Dating often involves couples spending time alone, which can sometimes lead to a more physical connection.”

Ben formally asked for Jessa’s hand in marriage and then proposed to her in August 2014-their engagement was sealed with him holding her hand for the very first time. They were married on November 1, 2014. Jessa was expecting their first child when 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. Following this, TLC broadcast a special episode focusing on sexual abuse, with Jill and Jessa sharing their experiences to raise awareness among viewers. That winter, the sisters became the focus of their own series, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which later developed into Counting On, also including other members of the Duggar family.

Jessa and Ben have expanded their family over the years. They welcomed son Spurgeon on November 5, 2015, followed by son Henry on February 6, 2017. Their daughter, Ivy Jane, arrived on May 28, 2019, and another daughter, Fern, in July 2021. Sadly, Jessa experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holidays, which she shared in February 2023. Most recently, they welcomed son George in December 2023.

In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.

The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.

Jinger and Jeremy first connected while doing mission work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They got married on November 5, 2016-which happened to be the birthday of the bride’s nephew, Spurgeon-but coordinating dates is tricky when you’re part of a large family of 19! Soon after the wedding, people started speculating that they were expecting a baby.

Jinger shared on a June 2017 episode of Counting On that she and her family likely envisioned being settled in Laredo a year from then, continuing their ministry and looking for ways to serve God, as she stated, “just seeking to serve the Lord, however, we can.”

Their daughter Felicity arrived on July 19, 2018. Earlier that year, in May, they shared the news that Jinger was expecting another baby, but also revealed she had experienced a miscarriage the previous autumn. Then, in November 2020, they were happy to welcome their daughter Evangeline Jo.

Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.

Oh my gosh, Joseph Duggar! He was born on January 20, 1995, can you believe it? And get this – he proposed to Kendra, who he met at church, at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding in May 2017! It was so romantic! They’d only been courting for a few months, but he just *knew*. I was totally obsessed with their whirlwind romance! It was destiny!

I was really nervous beforehand, but I didn’t worry about her rejecting me, because she’d already told me, ‘I’m just waiting for you!’ā€ Joseph shared with People after he proposed. Kendra added, ā€œI’m incredibly happy and totally shocked. I have so much I want to say, but I’m just shocked.ā€

Since then, they’ve shared the joyful news of their growing family with the births of their son Garrett (born in June 2018), daughter Addison (born in November 2019), and daughter Brooklyn (born in February 2021).

Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.

Only a few months after they began dating publicly, the couple revealed they were engaged in March 2018. In a statement, he explained, “I proposed to Lauren at the very same location where her parents got engaged.” He added, “This property holds a lot of family history, which makes it a particularly meaningful place for Lauren.”

Lauren’s future mother-in-law, Michelle, shared in a video on the family’s blog, “We love Lauren, she is such a precious girl.” Jessa and Ben also sent their congratulations, along with chocolate candies shaped like x’s and o’s. “Pretty sure that y’all want to save your first kiss for your wedding day, but if you come over here we’ll give you…” She then held up the chocolate as a consolation prize.

A past relationship with Marjorie Jackson ended, and they parted ways in the summer of 2015. Josiah told People in March 2016, “Marjorie and I enjoyed our time together. We were simply trying to discern what God wanted for us. She felt the timing wasn’t right at that point, so we decided to take a break.”

He and Lauren got married on June 30, 2018, and told People magazine that their wedding day was “absolutely perfect.” They had their first daughter, Bella Milagro, on November 8, 2019-her name means “miracle baby,” as Lauren had experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. The couple then welcomed another daughter, Daisy, in 2022, and a son named Ezra in May 2023.

Ninth sibling Joy-Anna DuggarĀ was born Oct. 28, 1997.

Let me tell you, Austin Forsyth and I go way back! We were friends for a full 15 years before things turned romantic. And when we started courting, we didn’t mess around! He proposed in February 2017, and we were married just a few months later on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Ark. It was a special day – you might remember it as the same wedding where Joseph proposed to Kendra!

Oh my goodness, I’ve been following Joy-Anna and Austin for ages, and I was SO thrilled when they welcomed their first son, Gideon Martin Forsyth, on February 23, 2018! Then, just a couple of years later, on August 21, 2020, they had a little girl, Evelyn Mae Forsyth, who is absolutely precious. And most recently – I nearly screamed with joy – they welcomed another sweet baby boy, Gunner James Forsyth, on May 17, 2023! Their family is just perfect.

Jim Bob and Michelle welcomed their second set of twins, Jed Duggar and Jeremiah Duggar, on December 30, 1998.

Jed and Katey Nakatsu got married in April 2021 after dating for a year. They have two children: a son named Truett, who was born in May 2022, and a daughter named Nora Kate, born in June 2023.

In July 2024, Jed and Katey shared the exciting news that they were expecting twin girls. Their daughters, Elsie Kate and Emma Kate, arrived on January 8, 2025.

Jeremiah, who is a certified flight instructor, is married to Hannah Wissmann (the sister of Stephen, who is married to Jana). Together, they have two daughters: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.

They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.

No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.

Back in January 2017, the Daily Mail said that Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a run-down house in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, which is roughly 30 minutes from the Duggar family’s property. Following this, Jase went on to launch his own construction business.

He publicly announced his relationship with Maddie Grace on Instagram in May 2024, and they got married the next October.

Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.

He’s not currently dating anyone publicly, but he’s a very loving and attentive uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Oh my gosh, he’s the ultimate ‘funcle’ (fun uncle!) and seriously, all the little boys in the neighborhood *adore* him! They all want to be just like him, it’s so cute! My mom, Michelle, wrote that on his 19th birthday back in 2019, and it’s SO true. James can literally do anything he sets his mind to. Even when he was tiny, we’d always find him ‘fixing’ things around the house! He’s always been the type to take everything apart, completely figure out how it works, and then put it back together-but with a few special modifications, of course! He’s just…amazing. #funcle

This year, James put in a lot of effort to earn his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and he’s now highly skilled at operating large trucks and heavy equipment! We’re excited to see what God has planned for him down the road!

No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.

He began dating Claire Spivey and publicly acknowledged their relationship in September 2020. They became engaged the next November and then got married on February 26, 2021.

Born on May 23, 2004, Jackson Duggar is the 15th child of Jim Bob and Michelle, and is pictured here with his older sister, Jill.

For his 16th birthday, his mom, Michelle, complimented Jackson’s funny personality and mentioned she knew he was really eager to get his driver’s license.

Johannah Duggar entered the world on October 11, 2005, which is why her family was featured in a special called 16 Kids and Moving In.

ā€œThis girl is full of life and loves meeting people,ā€ Michelle shared on her 15-year-old daughter’s birthday in 2020. ā€œHer little sisters completely idolize her, and I’m so thankful to God for letting me be her mother!ā€

Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.

Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.

Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.

Michelle described her daughter, Jennifer, as reliable, devoted, and a joy to be around when she turned 13. Jennifer is popular with her younger cousins, and they often want her to carry them! She also deeply cares for animals, consistently making time to look after her pets. Recently, she even helped care for a group of 7 baby bunnies!

Here onĀ the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.

In 2019, Jordyn-Grace’s mom described her as an outgoing girl who easily makes friends, adding that her laugh always brightens everyone’s day.

No. 19 Josie Duggar, pictured here with her niece Meredith, was born on December 10, 2009. She arrived three months early and weighed just 1 pound, 6 ounces at birth. She then spent six months receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

ā€œJosie is full of life and always on the go,ā€ Michelle shared while celebrating her daughter’s 11th birthday in 2020. ā€œShe’s active from the moment she wakes up until bedtime!ā€
