If you enjoy exciting sword battles and vast, explorable worlds, now is a fantastic time to be a fan! Ghost of Yotei has finally been released on PS5. It’s a truly great moment for those who love the genre.
Wow, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima is finally here! It’s crazy to think it’s been over five years since Sucker Punch first told us Jin Sakai’s story. Time really flies when you’re having fun, and honestly, that game was amazing. I can’t wait to jump back in!
Okay, so with Yotei, the devs really wanted to move away from the old style of gameplay. Basically, the first game had you running all over the place, constantly checking map markers. With this one, they’re aiming for something more open and free-flowing – a game where you don’t feel like you *have* to bounce around so much just to progress. They specifically told us that was their goal – to make a title that feels less about checking things off a list and more about actually exploring.
It appears this latest version of the Ghost formula is a success. Yotei has received better reviews than Tsushima, and it’s now considered one of the highest-rated games of 2025.
Our Ghost of Yotei PS5 review states that Ghost of Yotei is a fantastic sequel, improving on the original in every way and giving players complete control over their gameplay experience. Ghost of Yotei truly puts you in charge.
We found that Sucker Punch truly surpassed its previous work, delivering improved combat, a more compelling story, and impressive utilization of the PS5’s capabilities. This earned the game an ‘excellent’ score of 9/10.
But have you been bitten by the hype? As always, that’s what we’re here to find out.
