Naruto Gives Sasuke the Spotlight in Stunning New Official Reveal

As fans eagerly await the anniversary episodes, they’ve been given a special treat: stunning new animation! A set of promotional videos for the popular official game, Naruto Mobile, has been released, showcasing Sasuke Uchiha with two swords, perfectly capturing his independent and solitary nature.

On Oct. 9, 2025, Sasuke Uchiha will become a new playable character with an A-Rank in the game’s “Jianghu Legend” storyline. This storyline offers a fresh take on the Naruto universe, placing familiar characters within a historical Chinese world of rival martial arts clans and political intrigue. To promote Sasuke’s arrival, More Fun Studio released three videos: a character trailer, a battle between Sasuke and Kabuto, and a lore-rich theme song called “Twin Swords of Dawn” created by Tang Hanxiao. Noriaki Sugiyama and Nobutoshi Canna once again voiced Sasuke and Kabuto, respectively, for the animated fight sequence. Sasuke joins Kabuto, Tsunade, and Mei Terumi as playable characters in this unique storyline.

The latest trailers confirm that the story directly follows the events of the Kabuto arc from “Jianghu Legend.” The plot resumes immediately after Assistant Minister of Justice Kabuto’s confrontation with Tsunade, A (Fourth Raikage), and Mei Terumi, leaving the whereabouts of the Red-Moon Orb – a significant and potent artifact in this universe – unknown. This incident causes fresh unrest in Jianghu and signals the reappearance of Sasuke, a skilled swordsman known as the English Claw, who is determined to retrieve the orb.

The character’s backstory is expanded upon in the official theme song video, revealing that the Uchiha Clan was once famous throughout the land for their incredible skill with the sword. Two young successors, Sasuke – known for his lightning-fast techniques – and Itachi – embodying fiery power – both achieved great renown before their deaths. After they perished, stories began circulating that the Uchihas were responsible for the downfall of the Senju Clan. Now a fugitive, Sasuke is determined to discover what really happened to both clans, trying to figure out if it was just a long-standing feud or a deeper, more intricate “courtly conspiracy.” The video also suggests , while also having a lot of , with appearances by Fugaku, Sakura, Itachi, Orochimaru and more.

Naruto Mobile is an action-fighting game with 2.5D side-scrolling gameplay. It was created by More Fun Studio, a part of Tencent, with permission from Bandai Namco. First released in 2016, the game is currently only playable in China, but it uses the original Japanese voice actors. The game covers the complete story of the Naruto series, all the way from the beginning to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and focuses a lot on battles between players (PvP). This has created a large and passionate community around the game.

Since it launched, Naruto Mobile has been a huge financial success for Tencent, earning around US$2.87 billion as of 2024. It’s consistently among the highest-earning mobile games in China, bringing in roughly US$568 million in 2024 by itself.
