The Finals recently released update 8.3.0, introducing a new, limited-time game mode. You’ll battle among the clouds of the afterlife, eliminating opponents – and there are free, heavenly-themed rewards to earn. This update features a new way to fight and plenty of incentives to participate.
Called ‘Heaven or Else‘, this new, temporarily available game mode is a straightforward Team versus Team fight, but it has a unique element: both teams get jump pads, healing emitters, goo grenades, a charge and slam ability, and a spear. This spear is especially powerful, designed to launch opponents from high up in the air and eliminate them.
Teams will battle for their place in the afterlife by knocking opponents off elevated platforms – using any strategy they can. The arena’s physics have been tweaked so that every impact sends players flying in the direction of the blow, making it easier to launch rivals. This creates exciting and unpredictable matches, with both teams struggling to maintain their balance and avoid falling into the abyss.
But this new game mode isn’t the only part of the Heaven or Else event.
It also includes a collection of contracts that unlock free cosmetic items. One set is themed around heaven, featuring marble and gold weapons, and an appropriately named ‘HOLTOW Pearly Gates Insurance‘ along with a pristine white outfit. The other set draws inspiration from the underworld, offering weapons resembling smouldering lava, red horns, and a red jumpsuit.
Besides these cosmetics, there are also new outfits for the six esports teams that qualified for the 2025 Grand Major. Now you can support your favorite team in-game by wearing their unique outfit and showing your allegiance.
We’ve also included a lot of small improvements, like making maps and settings easier to use. Plus, we’ve adjusted weapons and gear, which could change how you play with certain items. These changes are designed to improve your overall experience and make things more enjoyable.
