An actor famous for playing Joker has talked about potentially appearing in Star Wars. He addressed the enthusiasm of fans while promoting a project. The Academy Award-winning actor, who has starred in several big film series, explained what he thought about the idea of joining the galaxy far, far away when asked about it.
Jared Leto talks Star Wars movie or TV role possibility
While promoting his new movie, Tron: Ares, Jared Leto discussed with On Demand Entertainment the chance of appearing in Star Wars. When the interviewer mentioned that fans would like to see him in the franchise, Leto replied, “Okay, yeah. I mean, I love that too.”
He explained, “I was lucky enough to appear in Blade Runner, which I always loved. I also got to be in Tron, and I’ve been involved in so many incredible projects. Honestly, at this point, anything else feels like a bonus.”
Leto recently attended the Tron: Ares event in London and talked about how long it took to bring the film to life. “We worked on developing this movie for nearly ten years. I’ve been a fan for over 40 years. Seeing the original in theaters when I was 11 or 12 was a life-changing experience,” he shared. He expressed being “absolutely excited” for audiences to finally watch the film and described the entire process as something he was very grateful for.
The actor also shared high praise for his colleague, Jeff Bridges, who is reprising his role in Tron: Ares. “It was absolutely incredible to work with someone like Jeff Bridges. He truly lives up to expectations – he’s generous, kind, fun, and funny, and I just adore him. I’m a big fan of his work, and being able to work with him made filming Tron: Ares even more enjoyable,” Leto explained. He continued, expressing his genuine appreciation.
I’m so excited! Forget about all the rumors about him being in Tron or Star Wars – Jared Leto is officially going to be Skeletor in the new Masters of the Universe movie from Amazon MGM! It’s coming out in June 2026, and the cast is amazing – we’ve got Idris Elba, Morena Baccarin, Alison Brie, Kristin Wiig, and Nicholas Galitzine all joining the fun!
Tron: Ares is directed by Joachim Rønning and stars Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, Cameron Monaghan, and Elizabeth Bowen. The film is scheduled to be released on October 10, 2025.
