The Real Reason Pedro Pascal Doesn’t Talk About His Dating Life

Pedro Pascal would be the last of us to get candid on his love life.

Addressing the common misconceptions about his romantic life, given that he’s always kept it private, the Materialists actor clarified some points for his fans.

Pedro expressed his confusion to Vanity Fair in a June 24 article, stating, “It’s surprising when I’m labeled as a private person in any medium, as it goes against who I truly am. In reality, I’m quite open about my personal life.

So, why does he keep his lips sealed about his romantic pursuits?

He expressed that personal relationships can be quite intricate to handle,” he said, “especially when we’re not magnifying them.

As a fervent admirer, I’m well-acquainted with the unblinking scrutiny that follows the personal life of the actor from The Last of Us. Just this year, he had to dispel rumors swirling about his romantic connection with Jennifer Aniston, after our favorite duo was spotted spending time together. But alas, they remain just friends… for now!

In March, he shared with TopMob News that we are friends and had a meal together with our common companions. Such gatherings are not uncommon.

Despite keeping quiet about his romantic relationships, Pedro openly expressed his views on the possibility of having children in the future: He’s open to becoming a father, as long as it allows him to experience precious moments with his kids.

He expressed this thought further to Vanity Fair, saying, “I’ve always dreamt of taking my children to the cinema, just like my parents did with me. So, in essence, I yearn for a quick path to a child who is intriguing and shares my taste in movies.

In the end, he’s deeply appreciative of those individuals who supported him during his early years in the film industry, providing crucial guidance when he was just beginning and desperately needed their assistance.

He shared, “At age thirty, it was expected for me to have established my career. After turning twenty-nine without a career, it was generally understood that the opportunity had passed and I wouldn’t be able to pursue one anymore. However, I felt as though I always had guardian angels watching over me throughout my thirties.

Read on for a look back through Pedro’s career on the big and small screen.

Pedro Pascal made his early TV debut in the season premiere of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” way back in 1999. He portrayed Eddie, an affable freshman at UC Sunnydale who became friends with Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar). However, Eddie’s friendship turned into a vampiric bond, and eventually, he was staked by the Vampire Slayer.

2024 saw Pascal sharing with Entertainment Tonight that he attributes his continued acting career to this specific role. With just under $7 left in his bank account, a residual from Buffy the Vampire Slayer unexpectedly appeared, preventing financial disaster and enabling him to persevere in Hollywood instead of giving up.

In the year 2001, Alexander Pascal made an appearance in an episode of NYPD Blue, portraying a goth character named Dio. His role required him to wear fake piercings, have a pentagram tattooed on his hand, and speak some satanic dialogue. On the show “Hot Ones,” Pascal described Dio as an “extraordinarily enjoyable character.

2009 marked the beginning of Pascal’s significant, repeated appearance on television series, “The Good Wife.” Over six episodes, he portrayed the character Nathan Landry, a self-important lawyer.

2014 saw Pedro Pascal’s captivating seven-episode portrayal of Prince Oberyn Martell on HBO’s blockbuster fantasy drama catapult him into popular culture stardom. Although his character’s season four storyline ended in a heartbreaking, jaw-dropping demise at the hands of The Mountain, the Red Viper remains fondly remembered as one of the most iconic characters from the acclaimed show.

In 2014, the actor originally from Chile started appearing on CBS’s crime series The Mentalist as Agent Marcus Pike. During his seven-episode run, he developed a romantic storyline with Teresa Lisbon, portrayed by Robin Tunney.

In 2015, Pascal landed his initial series lead role and hit the streaming jackpot with Netflix’s show, “Narcos.” On this production, Pascal portrayed Javier Peña, a genuine Drug Enforcement Administration agent who pursued Pablo Escobar and the Medellín Cartel.

In the 2019 Netflix action film, he joined forces with Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam, Oscar Isaac, and Garrett Hedlund. This movie revolves around these five ex-special forces agents who come together to bring down a ruthless South American drug lord.

In its debut as the initial live-action series within the Star Wars universe, “The Mandalorian” quickly became a popular choice among viewers. Pedro Pascal portrayed Din Djarin, who served as a reluctant guardian to Grogu, often referred to as Baby Yoda, although he wasn’t always donning Mando’s armor and provided the character’s voice instead.

Talking to Variety, Pascal described his experience wearing the Mandalorian armor as instantly making him feel powerful, threatening, and protective, yet it’s as if he’s seeing nothing but darkness. If there’s even a small opening, he fears he might accidentally fall through it.

Regardless of its mixed reviews, the 2020 release of Wonder Woman, specifically its sequel, provided an opportunity for Pascal to excel in his portrayal of the slimy businessman antagonist, Maxwell Lord.

In the 2022 comic-crime movie that garnered much praise, Pascal showcased an impressive performance, appearing alongside Nicolas Cage, who portrayed a fictitious character based on himself.

2023 marked the year he assumed the main character in HBO’s eagerly awaited version of “The Last of Us,” inspired by the cherished video game. His portrayal of Joel Miller alongside Bella Ramsey’s Ellie earned him nominations for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award (which he was honored with).

Additionally, his character’s devastating and gruesome demise during the second season left many stunned online.

In a delightful shift from his more solemn performances, Pascal lent his voice to the 2024 animated family film, “The Wild Robot“. Here, he portrays Fink, a cunning fox who forms an unlikely friendship with the stranded robot when she is deserted on a secluded island.

In the 2024 Gladiator sequel directed by Ridley Scott, he became a part of an exceptional cast that includes Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, and Connie Nielsen.

2025’s heartwarming romantic comedy has me absolutely smitten! I can’t help but swoon over the enchanting ensemble, with none other than Pascal adding his captivating charm to the mix. As a dedicated fan, it’s simply magical watching Dakota Johnson, our ambitious New York City matchmaker, navigate the tricky waters of love, torn between her ideal match (Pascal) and her complex past with Chris Evans. The chemistry is electric, and I can’t wait to see how this love triangle unfolds!

Ari Aster’s upcoming movie, a biting commentary on society, features Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix playing the roles of a mayor and sheriff. Their characters experience friction as they deal with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in the year 2020 within their small town.
