Peacemaker Season 1 is a wild ride from the start. Once Christopher Smith is released from prison, he’s immediately faced with two major problems: stopping an alien invasion and dealing with his angry father, who holds him responsible for his brother Keith’s death. Peacemaker manages to succeed in the fight, but his overall chances of success are uncertain, as he’s left confronting his father’s ghost at the end of the season. Luckily, things aren’t as bleak when Season 2 begins, and Chris experiences a brief period of positive change. But, true to James Gunn’s style, the story quickly takes a much darker direction.

Although James Gunn’s work often has a playful tone, it can also be very impactful, so a little humor is always welcome. The second season of the Disney+ series has the main character, a bounty hunter, battling a Krayt dragon – a massive creature that’s been frightening people on Tatooine. There’s a particularly brutal moment where the dragon shoots acid at a group of Tusken Raiders, killing them immediately. A user on X thought this would be the ideal spot to add the Peacemaker intro music, and they were spot on.

Both Walter and his accomplice, Jesse Pinkman, are left to helplessly watch as the dissolving corpse falls through the floor, creating roughly 100 new issues for the drug-producing pair. The exclamation “Oh Lord” perfectly captures the feeling of the scene, emphasizing how ridiculous everything is.
