I Can’t Wait For Peacemaker’s Season 2 Finale, And I Have A Checklist Of Things I Really Want To See

Be warned: the following contains spoilers for the second-to-last episode of Pacemaker. If you haven’t watched it yet on HBO Max, proceed with caution.

I’m really not ready for *Peacemaker* Season 2 to end! I’ve enjoyed this season’s story even more than the first, which focused on the Butterflies. While the fan theories about Overman didn’t come true, I still loved how James Gunn and the team built up the finale and I‘m excited to see how everything wraps up in the last episode. I have high hopes for it!

It’s still uncertain if *Peacemaker* will get a third season, or if the storylines of these characters will continue in other shows or movies. There are a lot of unresolved plot points, and while I don’t expect everything to be wrapped up, I’m putting forward all my ideas in case some of them are picked up and developed.

Keith Formally Declaring Revenge On Peacemaker

The simplest way to start Season 3 would be to introduce a villain who’s already motivated to seek revenge on our hero. This villain could be someone affected by the events on Earth-X – perhaps the person responsible for the accidental death of Christopher Smith, and connected to the death of his father, Auggie, as well as the serious injury to Keith. The episode ended with Keith clearly still alive and plotting revenge, but we need a direct statement from Captain Triumph about his plans. We’re also assuming Keith’s portal device will still work when he recovers.

A Resolution To Peacemaker And Harcourt’s The Will They? / Won’t They Thing

Okay, so looking back at Season 1, it’s clear almost everything bad happened because Peacemaker was so hung up on Harcourt. Season 2 *has* to deal with that! I’m picturing this: they finally get together, only for Peacemaker to get shipped off on some ridiculously long space mission – Mars, maybe? – keeping them apart. Honestly, I *don’t* want that heartbreak, but I also don’t want a whole season of just Chris and Emilia being sickeningly sweet. We need conflict, even in a romance!

Proof That Earth-X’s Vigilante Survived The Police Shootout

I didn’t expect to enjoy the ‘Vigilante’ storyline this season as much as I did, but looking back, it feels inevitable. I’d be happy if the show just quickly confirms he survived the chaotic shootout at the Smith house. However, I really don’t want him to survive that only to be unexpectedly attacked by one of Keith’s gadgets. There are plenty of other things he could be doing, like researching and sharing animal facts.

Tim Meadows’ Langston Fleury To Get The Spotlight One More TIme

Tim Meadows played a uniquely quirky character on the show – an ARGUS agent named Langston Fluery who had a strange aversion to birds and very particular opinions on what makes a good housewarming present. He hasn’t been featured much lately, and I’d love to see him get a memorable farewell, particularly if he won’t be appearing in the new DC Universe. DC, please consider bringing him into the comics!

Adebayo Patching Things Up With Keeya

Having a terrifying experience like being chased by a racist mob can really make you see things differently. It’s hard to say how this will affect the Adebayo wives, but it seems like Leota might need some time away from this dangerous lifestyle to rebuild her relationships. Especially with Peacemaker potentially facing prison or being sent on risky missions with A.R.G.U.S. under Amanda Waller’s command.

The Kyphoid Alien To Do Something Plot-Related

I’m torn about the alien character from *Peacemaker* who keeps showing up, even in the opening dance sequence. While I enjoy unexpected moments, I also really want this character’s presence to actually contribute to the bigger story. I’m not sure how it could fit, but James Gunn is good at pulling off surprising connections. Maybe this alien will get its own series, and it’ll turn out to be a version of Martian Manhunter – though “Kyphoid Manhunter” doesn’t quite have the same ring. Hopefully, Gunn will find a way to make this character meaningful.

Rick Flag Reveals Wild New Plan For Portal Device

Whatever Rick Flag, played by Frank Grillo, does next will likely connect to James Gunn’s upcoming *Man of Tomorrow* movie. Hopefully, it’s not just a setup for Lex Luthor to capture more opponents. It would be great to see Rick Flag reveal some surprising plans for the portal device – maybe even something a little strange. It’d be interesting if he simply wanted to use it to visit his alternate universe counterpart, Rick Flag Jr., from Earth-X, even knowing that version is potentially a Nazi. But honestly, I’m open to any unusual direction they take it.

A Clayface Reference

Ideally, it would be great to see a nod to Batman, but after the show’s strong connection to *Superman*, a direct reference seems unlikely. However, a mention of the upcoming *Clayface* movie feels reasonable – perhaps just naming Tom Rhys Harries’ character, Matt Hagen, as an actor within this show’s universe, separate from the actual film’s production.

HBO Max offers streaming access to a vast library of movies, shows, documentaries, and all things DC Comics – including the DCU, DCEU, and classic titles. Subscriptions start at just $9.99 per month with ads. See the deal here.
