Leaked Synopsis Reveals Plot Details of Henry Cavill’s Highly-Anticipated 80s Action Fantasy Remake

A recent injury to one of the actors has caused a minor delay for the upcoming reboot, but a first look at the story has emerged thanks to a new leak from industry insider Daniel Richtman.

Following his roles in *Superman* and *The Witcher*, Henry Cavill is now involved in several fantasy projects that tap into nostalgia, including a remake of the 1986 film *Highlander*. While the original *Highlander* wasn’t a critical masterpiece, it gained a large and dedicated following. The remake, directed by Chad Stahelski (known for *John Wick*), has been quietly building a strong cast, and a leaked synopsis recently surfaced, revealing the general storyline.

Connor MacLeod, a warrior who first died centuries ago in Scotland, now lives a peaceful life, but is troubled by past losses and the constant fighting between immortals like himself. When the cruel immortal Kurgan returns, supported by a shadowy group seeking the key to everlasting life, Connor is drawn back into the Game – an age-old battle where only one immortal can ultimately remain.

With the help of his mentor, Ramírez, and archaeologist Kate Bennett, Connor needs to face his history and find his true calling. As immortal beings battle each other throughout time and around the world, their struggle for the enigmatic ‘Prize’ ultimately becomes a fight for the future of humankind.

‘Highlander’ Is an All-Star Action Fantasy Adventure in the Making

I’m really excited about the new *Highlander* movie! Henry Cavill is playing Connor MacLeod, the immortal, and it looks like it’s going to be a massive battle – the tagline is literally ‘there can be only one!’ The cast is getting seriously impressive too. They’ve added Russell Crowe to play Ramirez – taking over from Sean Connery, which is huge – and Dave Bautista as the villain, Kurgan. Plus, you’ve got Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Marisa Abela, Max Zhang, and even Jeremy Irons joining the fun! It’s shaping up to be a really epic film.

Remakes often face criticism from fans of the original, but a new version of *Highlander* could be significantly improved with the action expertise of *John Wick* director Chad Stahelski, updated special effects, and a talented cast. Unfortunately, moviegoers will have to be patient, as the film isn’t expected to be released until 2027.

Henry Cavill hurt his leg while preparing for the movie, which has now delayed filming until January 2026. Although he’s been sharing training videos despite the injury, the start of production will be pushed back a little. The movie is still expected to come out in 2027.
