Last Epoch Director is Unsure About Orobyss Monetization, Seasonal-to-Expansion Roadmap Coming Soon

I was really excited during the latest State of Play when Eleventh Hour Games announced that *Last Epoch* is coming to PS5! It’s a fantastic action RPG where you collect tons of loot, but it hasn’t gotten as much attention as some other games, which is a shame. But the best part? They’re not *just* bringing it to consoles – they’re also releasing a brand new expansion called *Orobyss*! I can’t wait.

Fans are eager to know how the update will be released and what it will cost. In a recent post, the game’s director, Judd Cobler, explained the delay in sharing details is due to the ongoing process of Krafton acquiring the studio.

We’re finalizing a roadmap detailing our plans from the current season all the way to future expansions, and we’ll share it with you soon. We’re just polishing the visuals and want to be careful not to reveal too much about the upcoming season’s content before it’s fully ready, as we often make adjustments based on player feedback (building a live service game means things are constantly evolving). He also confirmed that Orobyss won’t be Season 4 – several seasons will come before it, which is why we haven’t shared many details about it yet.

Cobler emphasized that the partnership with Krafton will significantly benefit the studio and allow them to create better content, securing their future after a period of uncertainty. Although previous seasonal updates after the initial game launch didn’t generate profit, the studio is still figuring out the best way to monetize the upcoming expansion.

When we first started as a small team on Reddit, we planned to offer all our content for free. However, sales of cosmetic items haven’t provided enough funding to cover our growing development costs. Our team has expanded, and we’re committed to paying everyone a fair wage. Like many games of this type, our expenses have increased! We’re still figuring out the best way to price the upcoming expansion, but we’ll let you know our decision as soon as it’s finalized.

We don’t have specific release dates for Last Epoch on PlayStation 5 or the Orobyss expansion yet. Keep an eye out for more information in the next few months.
