Coronation Street airs devastating Asha Alahan scenes in ITVX release

This article includes discussion of suicide that some readers may find distressing.

Be aware: This article discusses events from the latest episode of Coronation Street, which aired on Monday, October 6th, 2025 and is now available to watch on ITVX.

On Monday’s Coronation Street (October 6th), Asha Alahan, played by Tanisha Gorey, was taken to the hospital after her mental health struggles worsened.

Recently, trainee paramedic Asha has responded to several heartbreaking situations, including the deaths of Mason Radcliffe and Craig Tinker.

After Asha experienced racial abuse and was spat on by a woman named Naomi who was intoxicated, she found things even harder. However, she decided not to pursue a complaint to shield her new stepmother, Bernie Winter, from potential legal repercussions for having intervened.

Okay, so as a long-time Coronation Street watcher, I have to say I’m actually happy for Bernie and Dev! They’ve *finally* made things official and gotten married, and the show just showed them waking up together the morning after at the Chariot Square hotel. It’s a sweet moment, honestly.

Dev is asked to join the men at the Rovers Return to comfort Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), who is upset after his separation from Abi (Sally Carman-Duttine).

While watching over the shop, a sad Asha drinks wine and seems to be saying goodbye to her loved ones, as if she won’t be seeing them again.

She leaves Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) to look after the shop and heads out with the bottle.

Theo Silverton, played by James Cartwright, discovers Asha unconscious on a bench in Victoria Garden, and Amy Barlow, played by Elle Mulvaney, soon arrives on the scene.

Paramedics tend to Asha as Dev is alerted at the pub and races to the scene.

Dev and Amy are asked if Asha might have used drugs. Later, Sienna hesitantly shares that drugs were found on Asha.

It quickly becomes apparent that Asha has attempted suicide, but thankfully, sources confirm she lives through it.

However, more tests are needed, and everyone is worried about Asha’s health as Dev struggles with seeing his daughter in such a difficult state.

Heartfelt moments unfold in Harkishin, Gorey, and Hazlegrove. Meanwhile, hearing about Asha’s difficulties prompts the townspeople to consider their own hardships.

Can Asha’s loved ones ensure she gets the help she needs?
