Matthew Macfadyen’s wild new series opposite Hollywood star lands UK broadcaster

Good news for fans of Succession: Matthew Macfadyen, who played Tom Wambsgans, will soon be starring in a new series coming to Sky and NOW.

The Miniature Wife is a funny and heartwarming show inspired by a short story from author Manuel Gonzales. Elizabeth Banks, known for her role in The Better Sister, also stars. It’s scheduled to be released in the UK and Ireland in 2026.

The new series, *The Miniature Wife*, is a funny story about what happens when Elizabeth Banks’ character is accidentally shrunk to a tiny size. Her husband, played by Matthew Macfadyen, is understandably shocked, and their marriage becomes hilariously complicated as a result.

Things at home change for this couple, and what starts as an ordinary life quickly becomes a tense and competitive struggle for control.

Joining the series are Zoe Lister-Jones, known for her role in ‘Beau is Afraid’; O-T Fagbenle, who starred in ‘Presumed Innocent’; Sian Clifford from ‘Fleabag’; Sofia Rosinsky of ‘Paper Girls’; Ronny Chieng, famous for ‘Crazy Rich Asians’; Aasif Mandvi, seen in ‘Evil’; Rong Fu from ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’; and Tricia Black, known for ‘Small Achievable Goals’.

Katie Keenan, Sky UK and Europe‘s acquisitions director, announced they were excited to bring the series *The Miniature Wife* to viewers in the UK and Ireland next year, after acquiring it from Sony Pictures Television, a partner they’ve worked with for a long time.

This show boasts a fantastic cast of well-known British actors. The connection between Matthew and Elizabeth is captivating, and combined with clever, fast-paced writing, this comedy drama from Media Res Studio is expected to be a major success next year.

Since the finale of Succession, Matthew Macfadyen has appeared in the movies Deadpool & Wolverine and Holland, and is slated to star in the upcoming Netflix historical series, Death By Lightning.
