Recent *Dragon Ball* projects have creatively altered the established timeline with input from the late Akira Toriyama. However, many memorable villains from the older movies deserve a chance to appear in the main series. While fans enjoy those films, they’ve always been separate from the core story, with events that didn’t affect the ongoing anime or manga. These movies essentially took place on their own, independent of everything else in the *Dragon Ball* universe.
Recent projects like *Dragon Ball Super: Broly* and *Dragon Ball Daima* have brought previously non-official characters and concepts – such as Broly and Super Saiyan 4 – into the main *Dragon Ball* storyline, thanks to the work of Akira Toriyama. Although Toriyama is no longer with us, there’s still potential for exciting new stories featuring other *Dragon Ball* movie villains within the official timeline. Here are ten villains that would be great additions.

10). Hatchiyack
Hatchiyack is a villain most fans have probably forgotten, but it would be funny to see him reappear. He’s been relegated to special scenes in the Japanese video game *Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans* and hasn’t been featured much elsewhere. His backstory is interesting, though – he’s a creation of the Tuffles, a race destroyed by the Saiyans, and was specifically made to eliminate them. While he might not be strong enough to carry an entire story arc on his own, he could be a great way to explore the old Saiyan vs. Tuffle conflict that *Dragon Ball* briefly touched on in *Dragon Ball GT*.

9). Dr. Wheelo
Dr. Wheelo isn’t a very well-known villain – he only appeared in the movie *Dragon Ball Z: The World’s Strongest* – but he’d be a good character to build on in a larger story. *Dragon Ball Heroes* already created a way for him to return by giving him a new body and pairing him with another evil scientist, and villains who are scientists have shown up repeatedly throughout the *Dragon Ball* series. Simply having Goku and the others defeat smart villains with brute force isn’t very interesting, so using Dr. Wheelo could lead to a more compelling threat, like another powerful monster (perhaps even Hatchiyack), for Goku to battle. Instead of creating a brand new intelligent villain, *Dragon Ball* would be better off utilizing one they’ve already established.

8). Bio-Broly
Let’s be honest, *Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly* isn’t exactly a fan favorite – many consider it the weakest of the original Broly movies, and the villain was essentially just a big blob. However, with Broly now officially allied with Goku and Vegeta in *Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero*, bringing in a clone of him could create some exciting trouble. While a clone wouldn’t be strong enough to carry a whole story arc, it would be perfect as a powerful mid-arc challenge or a boss to overcome. This concept could even be expanded to include clones of other characters alongside the original.

7). Chilled
Chilled, a relative of Frieza, might not be a character fans were eager to see become officially part of the *Dragon Ball* story. However, he opens up possibilities for exploring the backstory of Goku’s father, Bardock. The special *Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock* was quite separate from the main storyline, showing Bardock traveling through time and becoming a Legendary Super Saiyan. Still, it was a memorable event triggered by Frieza’s lineage. If both this backstory and Chilled could be integrated into the official canon, he’d be a great addition. Otherwise, the already powerful Frieza could certainly benefit from some unexpected allies.

6). Hirudegarn
Hirudegarn isn’t the most exciting villain, but he deserves a place in the official Dragon Ball story. There haven’t been many giant monster battles lately, and Super Hero proved how awesome those fights can be with Cell Max. Bringing Hirudegarn back, and making him even stronger, could be amazing. Just picture Ultra Instinct Goku using a powerful Super Dragon Fist to defeat this massive demon, like in Wrath of the Dragon! With the recent expansion of the Demon Realm in Dragon Ball Daima, there’s a lot of potential to reimagine this monster and create a truly epic battle.

5). Bojack
Bojack is a villain who could easily fit into the *Dragon Ball* timeline, which is why fans are surprised he hasn’t appeared officially. *Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound* cleverly used the destruction of King Kai’s planet to introduce a group of powerful, aggressive villains, and it all fits together logically within the series’ history. It’s easy to envision a revamped, even more powerful version of Bojack appearing in the future – perhaps even as a threat Gohan Beast would have to defeat. While Bojack himself isn’t the most compelling character, the concept behind him is strong enough to warrant revisiting in future storylines.

4). Lord Slug
Lord Slug is a fantastic villain whose story deserves to be officially part of the Dragon Ball universe. While the movie *Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug* starts with a simple meteor crash, the idea of an evil Namekian offers a lot of potential. With *Dragon Ball Daima* revealing that Namekians originate from the Demon Realm and possess powerful magic, a villain like Lord Slug could challenge heroes like Orange Piccolo in epic, large-scale battles. A fight between two giant Namekians would be a spectacular centerpiece for a new movie, and could easily tie into the broader lore of the Demon Realm.

3). Turles
While we saw a dark version of Goku with Goku Black, the character Turles remains a sibling with the potential to significantly impact the main storyline. The idea of Goku having siblings isn’t new to the series, but introducing another long-lost brother could create exciting new developments. The series could even reintroduce Turles’ Tree of Might, potentially connecting it to the newly established Demon Realm. It’s conceivable that a demonic version of the Tree of Might could make Turles as powerful as Goku, who has now reached god-like strength. The contrast between a demonically empowered Turles and a god-like Goku is a compelling idea with a lot of potential.

2). Janemba
Janemba would have been a perfect addition to the official *Dragon Ball* storyline, and his absence in *Dragon Ball Daima* is a real disappointment. With the series now focusing on the Demon Realm and hinting at new fusions, everything pointed to Janemba appearing. He’s a demon from that realm who would have forced Goku and Vegeta to fuse to defeat him – the setup was ideal, but it never happened. That’s the most frustrating part. Janemba is uniquely suited to become a fully established part of the canon. He’s not just a powerful enemy; a canonical version could develop Janemba into a more complex, thinking villain. Just like Broly received a more fleshed-out backstory and emotional depth with his redesign, Janemba could have undergone a similar transformation.

1.) Cooler
While many villains appear in the *Dragon Ball* films, Cooler, Frieza’s brother, deserves to be officially included in the main storyline. With Black Frieza currently being the strongest fighter in Universe 7, it’s a great time to introduce Cooler. He could either be quickly defeated by Frieza to show who’s boss, or he could arrive as a rival plotting to overthrow his brother. Either scenario would open up exciting new possibilities for the story.
The *Dragon Ball Heroes* series has given Cooler a powerful new golden form, making him a strong opponent in the current storyline. His Meta-Cooler version could also pose a real threat to Frieza and his forces. Cooler could even become an ally later on to defeat Frieza, or perhaps even *force* Frieza and Goku to work together again if he becomes too powerful. There’s a lot of potential for exciting storylines with this character.
