Russell T Davies, the showrunner for Doctor Who, has disclosed a firm guideline he follows when portraying deaths within the series.
Throughout the years of his rule, Doctor Who and I have both borne witness to numerous heart-wrenching demises, yet they all share a peculiar trait: no blood is ever shed in these farewells.
Lately, during an interview on Your Manchester, Davies shared that he firmly adheres to a “tough” policy against the use of blood.
He mentioned that the rules regarding it are quite stringent, as there are very young kids present who shouldn’t be exposed to blood.
Laser beams, fatalities, various types of fatalities, are permissible, but no depictions of blood spurting from individuals. Such scenes are common in different TV shows.

Although some might argue that it’s a kids’ show, he firmly contended otherwise, stating, “I truly believe it isn’t. In fact, it is suitable for all ages, but I would categorize it as a family program.
In my critique, I couldn’t help but delve into the intriguing discussion during the interview regarding the stunning climax of season finale The Reality War. Specifically, the scene that left many viewers stunned – the regeneration of Ncuti Gatwa’s character, the Fifteenth Doctor, transforming into Billie Piper. This marked her triumphant comeback to the series, having previously portrayed the beloved companion Rose Tyler.
Without revealing any secrets, he skillfully dodged several questions and humorously suggested that he’s clueless about whether she might reprise her role as the next version of The Doctor.
