Halle Berry is celebrating her daughter Nahla’s big milestone in literally the sweetest way. 

The actress who played Catwoman revealed that her 17-year-old daughter is starting a new phase in her life, and they marked the occasion with a special dessert.

Halle Berry proudly announced on Instagram that her daughter, Nahla, has been accepted to college, sharing a video of a pink cake to celebrate the early acceptance.

The 59-year-old, who shares her daughter Nahla with ex Gabriel Aubrey, proudly displayed a cake celebrating Nahla’s achievement. The cake had the message “You did it, Nahla!” written on it in white icing.

Halle Berry’s daughter, Nahla, achieving this success is the result of years of hard work. The actress is also mother to 12-year-old Maceo-Robert with her ex-partner, Olivier Martinez. Berry had previously shared details about Nahla’s path toward attending college earlier this year.

Halle recently shared that her daughter is attending a summer program at the college she hopes to attend next year. Speaking on Today, Halle said she isn’t sad to see her daughter gain independence. While she’ll definitely worry, she’s also thrilled for her daughter to start building her own life and discovering who she wants to become.

She finds these roles incredibly compelling because she understands the fierce protectiveness that comes with motherhood. ‘I would do anything for my children,’ she said, adding that this role allowed her to explore that instinct to its fullest extent, asking the question: ‘How far would you go to protect them?’
