It’s a new month on the PS Store, which means time for a new sale.
The Player’s Choice promotion features a huge selection of nearly 5,000 games and is running now until October 22nd.
A lot of the reported figures are just padding, so we’re going to concentrate on the most important transactions.
As a gamer, I’m always looking for good deals, and right now, everything on this list is fantastic! Push Square gave every single game a 7 out of 10 or better, and the prices are the best they’ve ever been – seriously, some of these are at all-time lows!
If you need to top up your PSN wallet, we’ve got you covered:
Without further ado, here are our recommendations in the Player’s Choice sale.
A Plague Tale: Requiem (PS5)
$23.99/£19.99 (-60%)
A Plague Tale: Requiem is a significant improvement over the first game. It refines what made the original fun, adds incredible graphics on the PlayStation 5, and tells a captivating story. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it delivers a cinematic experience – much like games from Naughty Dog – that’s definitely worth playing.

Balatro (PS5)
$13.49/£11.69
Balatro is a brilliantly unique poker game that blends the classic card game with roguelike elements. Instead of simply playing hands, you aim for a score target while constantly improving your deck with a huge range of upgrades and special cards. The game’s many systems work together to create incredibly powerful combinations, and it’s hugely rewarding to watch your scores skyrocket thanks to Jokers and card effects. With tons of collectibles, different difficulty settings, and challenges to tackle, it’s no surprise Balatro is a hit – it’s a truly fantastic and original game.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (PS5)
$29.99/£24.99 (-50%)
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden boasts a compelling story and fun gameplay. While the limited range of enemies and some technical issues prevent it from being a masterpiece, its fantastic side quests – which really focus on storytelling – make the less exciting battles worthwhile. This new game is the studio’s best work yet, and we hope to see more games set in this world.
Blue Prince (PS5)
$23.99/£19.99 (-20%)
Blue Prince is a one-of-a-kind adventure that blends puzzle-solving with the replayability of roguelike games. This mysterious mansion is packed with puzzles and secrets, offering new discoveries with each playthrough. It’s a surprisingly complex game, and dedicated players will find it very rewarding as they uncover all its hidden depths.
Dead Space (PS5)
$13.99/£13.99 (-80%)
Okay, so Dead Space is back, and let me tell you, this PS5 remake is seriously good. It’s the same story – I’m playing as Isaac Clarke, trying to survive on this wrecked spaceship, the USG Ishimura – but it’s been completely rebuilt. It’s way more than just prettier graphics, though those *are* amazing. The whole ship feels like one big, connected place now, with areas expanded and more detail. They even gave Isaac a voice, which is cool! Honestly, it’s still the Dead Space I love – super tense, creepy enemies, awesome weapons, and a story that really gets you hooked.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut (PS5)
$29.99/£24.99 (-50%)
Death Stranding Director’s Cut takes the already unusual and captivating “strand game” to the next level on PS5. The original game, created by Hideo Kojima and his team, presented a haunting and bizarre world where players navigate a broken, dangerous landscape to complete deliveries. It’s a surprisingly effective concept – every step feels risky, creating tension, especially when facing the terrifying BTs. The Director’s Cut improves everything with better graphics and performance, immersive DualSense features, 3D audio, and a host of new content.
Deathloop (PS5)
$11.99/£11.99 (-80%)
Arkane Studios, the creators of immersive games like Dishonored, are pushing boundaries with Deathloop. You play as an assassin stuck in a time loop on a quirky island, and your goal is to eliminate all the inhabitants within a single day. If you fail, the day restarts. The fun comes from discovering the perfect chain of events to break the loop. Deathloop ramps up the action with exciting powers, feeling like a more intense version of Dishonored. The time loop itself, plus the possibility of other players invading your game, creates a lot of suspense, all wrapped up in a stylish 1960s look.
Dying Light 2 (PS5)
$19.79/£18.15 (-67%)
The first Dying Light game didn’t receive much critical acclaim, but it was a commercial success on PlayStation 4. This created high hopes for the sequel on PlayStation 5, with the developers at Techland promising a story full of meaningful choices. While the final game didn’t quite deliver on those promises, it’s still an enjoyable open-world experience. If you’re looking for a game to simply relax and fight zombies, Dying Light 2 is a great choice. Its fantastic parkour system makes getting around the world incredibly satisfying.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (PS5)
$15.19/£15.19 (-62%)
Final Fantasy VII Remake is easily one of the strongest Final Fantasy games in recent memory, and the Intergrade version takes it even further. While it only covers part of the original story, and some of the updates might frustrate longtime fans, the game truly captures the spirit of Final Fantasy VII. From the beautifully developed characters to the incredible boss battles and satisfying combat, playing Remake is a real treat, particularly if you have fond memories of the original.
Grand Theft Auto V (PS5)
$19.99/£19.99 (-50%)
GTA 5 remains incredibly popular, and this latest version – the third generation for consoles – is the most visually impressive yet, offering stunning 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. While the game shows some signs of age in certain areas, its expansive open world is still hard to beat. Despite some initial difficulties for new players, GTA Online continues to grow with unique content, making it a truly exceptional multiplayer experience.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (PS5)
$11.99/£9.99 (-80%)
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the ultimate LEGO Star Wars experience, bringing together everything TT Games has learned from previous games. It’s a massive adventure that retells all nine main Star Wars movies, recreating iconic scenes in a fun, platforming style. Beyond the story, you can freely explore familiar planets and play as a huge roster of over a hundred characters. The gameplay feels fresh and updated compared to older LEGO Star Wars games, with improved shooting and more thrilling battles. With so much content, Star Wars fans will be entertained for a long time.
Live A Live (PS5)
$19.99/£15.99 (-60%)
Live A Live is a truly special JRPG. Its beautiful HD-2D style and diverse cast of characters might remind you of Octopath Traveler, but it offers a completely different experience. Even after all these years, Live A Live remains an exciting and captivating adventure. While the battle system isn’t perfect, the game expertly weaves together its many compelling and unique stories into a cohesive whole. It’s a memorable journey through time that will stay with you long after you finish playing.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (PS5)
$24.99/£28.99 (-42%)
Insomniac Games put a lot of work into bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered to the PS5, completely rebuilding New York City to utilize the new hardware while keeping the exciting gameplay of the original PS4 version. While some fans weren’t happy with changes to Peter Parker’s appearance, the addition of features like ray tracing and a smooth 60 frames per second makes this the best way to play Sony’s fantastic Spider-Man game. It also includes all the extra content from the original release!
