McDonald’s in Japan is running a special promotion based on the classic video game Street Fighter 2, and it’s proving to be incredibly popular.
I’m loving this new Street Fighters promotion! They’re going all out with cool pixel art – seriously, it’s awesome seeing Ryu totally digging into a Samurai Mac, and even M. Bison is shown carefully holding his order. It’s a fun little detail that shows they’re really leaning into the theme.
The collaboration features three new sandwiches: a Burnt Garlic Mayo Egg Teriyaki Burger, a Yurunji Mayo Chicken Burger, and a Triple Cheese Burger.
You can also enjoy an Overflowing Energy McFizz, or even turn it into an ice cream float – a popular treat in Japan. Plus, they’ve added a new seasoning option for their fries.
Honestly, the best part of all this for me is checking out the promotional art – it’s totally over-the-top and hilarious. I can’t get enough of it!
The trailer includes a clever nod to the classic Street Fighter 2, recreating Chun-Li’s stage. However, instead of the original background details, there’s a McDonald’s, and pixelated versions of new Street Fighter 6 characters Manon and Marisa are shown standing outside.
We really wish we were in Japan right now – we’d be on our way to McDonald’s! A McGriddle sounds perfect this morning.
If you do happen to be in the area, though, you know what you need to get for lunch today.
