It’s clear who the strongest Avenger is: The Hulk. While his first solo movie from 2008 isn’t often considered a top favorite, he remains a valuable character for Marvel. Even though recent storylines have toned down his incredible power, focusing on preventing him from instantly resolving conflicts with force, fans still want to see more of his destructive energy. Over six movies and one TV series, Hulk has consistently been a key player in battles, both big and small.
When we think about the Hulk’s powers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we often picture him lifting incredible weights or the destruction caused by his battles. But the one thing that truly defines the Hulk is his ability to smash. While he occasionally throws a kick, the Hulk mostly relies on his fists, and these are five of his most powerful punches.
5) Punching Thor in The Avengers

It’s obviously played for laughs, but the Hulk delivering a punch that sends a powerhouse Avenger – and his incredibly durable hammer – flying is still incredibly impressive. The sheer force of the blow is amazing, especially because the Hulk doesn’t even bother to prepare or change his stance. This shows his strength is always available, at full power, and it’s pretty hilarious, too.
4) Punching the Hulkbuster Armor in Avengers: Age of Ultron

While the Hulkbuster armor is definitely the most impressive weapon used against the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the fight still causes a lot of damage. The extended battle between Hulk and Tony Stark in the “Veronica” armor is a highlight of *Avengers: Age of Ultron*, filled with powerful blows. The most memorable moment is when their fists collide, creating a shockwave that sends people and glass flying. Some might say Tony’s final punch, which knocks Hulk unconscious, is better, but that deserves a spot on a list of the best Iron Man punches instead.
3) Punching the Wolf in Thor: Ragnarok

In *Thor: Ragnarok*, the Hulk fights many enemies, even Thor himself. However, one of his most impressive fights in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe is against the Fenris Wolf on the rainbow bridge. The way the fight builds, with the Hulk holding the wolf’s mouth open and swinging it around by the tail, are truly iconic moments for the character.
Ultimately, Hulk finishes the battle with an incredible uppercut – delivered from underwater and while still partially inside the wolf’s mouth! The punch is so powerful it sends the wolf hurtling through space. It’s a truly million-dollar moment.
2) Punching Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok

While many viewers saw Hulk’s fight with Surtur in *Thor: Ragnarok* as a funny moment, it was actually one of his most impressive feats in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though the image of Hulk flying towards the fire demon is humorous, he immediately lands a powerful blow that staggers the massive titan. He continues to fight relentlessly until Surtur simply swats him aside. The fact that Hulk’s initial punch even *affected* Surtur demonstrates his incredible strength, and it was a shame Thor didn’t let him finish the job.
1) Punching the Leviathan in The Avengers

While Hulk had previously thrown punches in the MCU, including a whole movie fighting the Abomination, this was the first time one of his hits had a truly lasting impact. Right after delivering the famous line, “That’s my secret, Cap. I’m always angry,” Hulk punched a massive Leviathan warrior, bringing it crashing down and effectively ending its attack. With a single blow, Hulk firmly established himself as a major force in the MCU, providing a visually stunning moment for audiences and simultaneously resolving one storyline while launching another.
