Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up Producer Breaks Down the Future of Marvel’s Preschool Franchise (Exclusive)

This week, Disney+ brought together the characters from Marvel’s popular preschool shows, *Spidey and His Amazing Friends* and *Iron Man and His Awesome Friends*, in a special crossover event called *Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up*. It’s the first big Avengers adventure for these shows, and features heroes like Captain America (Sam Wilson), Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, and Hulk joining the team!

For the first time, these young Avengers are teaming up on Disney Junior, setting the stage for more adventures with this new generation of heroes. Fans can look forward to new episodes of both *Spidey* and *Iron Man*, and a complete Avengers TV series is planned for 2027. Check out a sneak peek from the new special below!

To celebrate the premiere of *Avengers Team Up* this weekend, ComicBook spoke with producer Harrison Wilcox about the special and what’s next for these young Avengers shows. We asked Wilcox about possible confusion for viewers, given that this isn’t the first time these versions of Spider-Man and Iron Man have met. Peter Parker has previously interacted with an older Tony Stark in his *Amazing Friends* series. Interestingly, John Stamos voices both the adult Tony Stark on *Spidey* and Howard Stark on *Iron Man*.

Our priority is creating stories that preschoolers can connect with. We achieve this by featuring characters who are kids just like them, while still capturing the essence of the Marvel heroes everyone enjoys. We’re focusing on simple, standalone stories for this age group, as the complex, ongoing storylines that appeal to older Marvel fans aren’t quite right for preschoolers yet.

He explained that this special won’t significantly affect future episodes of the *Spidey* and *Iron Man* shows. That’s because those shows are designed to be made up of individual, self-contained stories.

The storytelling in our preschool shows is designed to be easy for kids to jump into at any point – whether it’s their first time watching or their hundredth. This special event won’t affect the ongoing stories of the shows, but it’s a fun way to bring all the characters together. It also introduces the upcoming series, *Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends*, which will build on the *Iron Man* series and include even more Avengers heroes for young viewers, and is set to premiere in 2027.

Fans of these popular characters have a lot to look forward to! New episodes of both *Spidey* and *Iron Man* are planned, and we can still expect team-ups with the *Avengers*. Plus, according to Wilcox, another well-known hero will be joining the franchise soon.

According to Wilcox, new episodes of *Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends* will arrive on Disney+ in November. Soon after, a popular Marvel character will join the show for the first time.

You can now watch *Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up* on Disney+, along with *Spidey and His Amazing Friends* and *Iron Man and His Awesome Friends*.
