A game that was previously only available on PlayStation 5 is coming to Xbox consoles on October 24th – a fitting release date given it’s a horror game. For clarity, a ‘console exclusive’ means the game is available on both PC and one specific console. This PS5 game only launched on August 25th, so its period as a console exclusive was relatively short.
On October 24th, the game *Zoochosis* from Clapperheads will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and even older Xbox One consoles. This means everyone, regardless of which Xbox they own, will be able to play it.
About the Game
Zoochosis is a scary first-person horror game where you’re a zookeeper working your first night shift. Things quickly go wrong when a parasite turns the animals into aggressive, monstrous creatures that want to break free. You have to stop them and find a cure, and the decisions you make will determine how the game ends.
Whether or not *Zoochosis* is a good game is subjective, as is often the case with horror titles. On Steam, it currently has a “Mixed” rating, with 60% of over 1,140 user reviews being positive. The PlayStation Store shows a similar score of 3.83 out of 5 stars. Since there’s no Metacritic score available, these user reviews are the best way to gauge how people are reacting to the game.
Players have criticized the game for feeling slow at times and being too easy to guess, with some jump scares falling flat and several technical glitches. However, others praise its original concept, how much fun it is to play again and again, and its genuinely creepy environment.
Whether or not you’ll enjoy the game is a matter of opinion, but its length isn’t. Expect a playthrough to take around two or three hours. That said, the game offers good replay value thanks to its multiple choices and different endings, encouraging you to play through it again.
Currently, the game isn’t planned for Xbox Game Pass, meaning Xbox players will have to purchase it at full price if they want to play it around Halloween. Given the shortage of quality horror games being released this month, Xbox users might have to do just that.
