The recent DLC for Donkey Kong Bananza, including DK Island and Emerald Rush, received a bit of a mixed reaction, largely because of its $20 price tag. Despite this, Nintendo is still adding new content with special, limited-time events. The first event, Chip Fever, starts on October 28th and runs until 11:59 PM PT on November 3rd.
Events are different from regular game runs because they have unique rules that limit your Emerald Perks to just three choices. This makes success depend more on knowing the maps well – you’ll need to plan your route carefully and collect as much as you can before time runs out.
This game offers a fresh take on the popular rogue-lite style, but it remains to be seen how it will develop over time. Players who finish the game can unlock statues of both Enguarde and Kong Bananza, representing Donkey Kong’s original transformation.
The new game Donkey Kong Bananza is out now for Nintendo Switch 2! It’s the first major Donkey Kong game in a long time and reviewers are loving it. You can read our full review here.
Enguarde and Kong Bananza statues are up for grabs in a limited time #DonkeyKongBananza Emerald Rush “Chip Fever” event, taking place from October 28th until November 4th.
