Kristin Cavallari is coming clean about this sunny moment.
The former star of Laguna Beach: The Real O.C. recently discussed her choice to reconnect with original cast members—like Lauren Conrad and Stephen Colletti—to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show’s finale.
Kristin said on her podcast, Let’s Be Honest, that filming the Laguna Beach reunion was a great experience, even though she initially didn’t want to participate. She added that it was surprisingly helpful for her to revisit the past, but she’s unsure how much she’s allowed to share about it.
Kristin Cavallari, 38, is glad she decided to go back to her hometown for a reunion. Although she didn’t say why she hesitated at first, she’s “really happy” she made the trip. She shares three children – Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 9 – with her ex-husband, Jay Cutler.
She said it was a wonderful experience and a fitting conclusion to her time working on Laguna Beach. The final episode will air in the spring, likely around April.
While fans are still waiting for the reunion to air, Kristin has shared a surprising update: she and Lauren have made up. The two famously clashed throughout all three seasons of The Hills, but Kristin recently posted a heartwarming photo on Instagram of them together, showing they’ve put their differences aside.
The founder of Uncommon James jokingly announced on October 11th that fans could now retire their ‘Team Lauren’ and ‘Team Kristin’ apparel.
Kristin has gotten together with her former Laguna Beach castmates before. She even had several of them – including Lala Olsen, Jason Wahler, Alex Murrel, Talan Torriero, and Jess Revans – join her Honestly Cavallari tour this summer, though the reunion didn’t go exactly as planned.
She admitted on her podcast in June that performing live with Laguna felt a bit chaotic. As this was her first live podcast tour, she explained she was being extra critical of herself. She also shared that she’s realized she’s more sensitive than she previously thought.
It looks like the group is finally getting along well! Continue reading for more photos and stories from the cast of Laguna Beach…

It was pretty funny to see Lisa Love from Teen Vogue tell Lauren Conrad she’d forever be known as the girl who skipped Paris Fashion Week. (Interestingly, that line originally came from Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, as discovered in a 2019 look back at The Hills.) Now, over a decade later, after that controversial choice and her breakup with Jason Wahler, Lauren has achieved so much more. She’s a New York Times bestselling author, co-founded The Little Market to support female artisans globally, and built a successful lifestyle brand, starting with her LC Lauren Conrad line at Kohl’s.
She famously moved on from her past public disagreements and married musician William Tell, from the band Something Corporate, after he finished law school. They had a beautiful, Pinterest-inspired wedding in 2014. Their family grew with the arrival of their second son, Charlie Wolf Tell, in 2019, joining big brother Liam James Tell.
Okay, seriously, I’m obsessed with Kristin Cavallari! Remember when she was just the queen of drama on Very Cavallari? Well, she’s totally transformed into a total boss babe! It’s amazing seeing her Uncommon James brand blow up – the Chicago store is gorgeous! And it doesn’t stop there! She’s got a shoe line with Chinese Laundry, which I need, obviously, and she’s already written two cookbooks! Her first one, True Roots, was a New York Times bestseller, and now True Comfort is coming out September 29th! I’ve already pre-ordered, and I’m counting down the days. She’s just unstoppable!
Kristin Cavallari and former NFL player Jay Cutler were together for ten years and had three children: sons Camden Jack and Jaxon Wyatt, and daughter Saylor James. They separated in April 2020.
In 2021, Kristin filmed a cameo for The Hills: New Beginnings season two.
Okay, so watching Heidi and Spencer totally transform has been amazing. Seriously, from the villains we loved to hate on The Hills to devoted dads of Gunner and Ryker? It’s unreal! They know they’re reality TV legends, and they played it brilliantly. Remember that crazy year where they aired all their drama – real or not – on every show imaginable? Celebrity Big Brother, I’m a Celebrity…, even Marriage Boot Camp! They basically forced everyone to remember Speidi, and it totally worked! They got The Hills: New Beginnings reboot off the ground in 2019, which I was SO excited about. Heidi actually told Vogue that reality TV is basically their job now, and honestly, good for them! They learned their lesson about spending all their money, though. Now they’re smart, with the podcast and Spencer’s crystal business, Pratt Daddy. It’s just…perfect. I’m obsessed!
Lauren Conrad actually doesn’t want to be involved in revisiting her time on The Hills. She strongly said ‘no’ when someone asked her about returning to the show a few years ago on her podcast, Lady Lovin’. She explained she wants to distance herself from everyone associated with it. It’s understandable, as people often move on when they change careers. Now living in New York City, after graduating from The International Culinary Center and writing for The Lo-Down, Lauren founded Love Wellness, a line of personal care products for women, in 2016. She recently told TopMob News that her life is completely different now than it was a decade ago.
In March 2021, Lo surprised her followers by sharing on Instagram that she’d been dealing with a serious brain injury from an accident that happened two years earlier, which she had kept private.
Brody first gained attention for his relationships with both Lauren and Kristin during his time on The Hills, which sparked ongoing public interest in his love life, even as he focused on his career as a DJ. (His 2015 web series Sex With Brody didn’t exactly discourage the attention.) He seemed to have found lasting love when he married fellow Hills cast member Kaitlynn Carter in a 2018 ceremony in Indonesia, but the two divorced in 2019.
He went on to find love with surfer Tia Blanco, with whom he welcomed daughter Honey Jenner in 2023.
Audrina Patridge first became known on reality TV with The Hills and has continued to appear on shows like Dancing With the Stars and her own VH1 series, Audrina. She also briefly hosted 1st Look on NBC. Now she’s back on MTV with the original cast, and has launched her own swimwear line, Prey Swim. After a difficult divorce from Corey Bohan, she rekindled a past relationship with Ryan Cabrera and even went on a date with Justin Bobby Brescia, but her priority now is her daughter, Kirra Max Bohan.
Despite a brief period living in Paris in 2008 – which she later clarified wasn’t quite as extensive as reported to Vogue – she returned to Los Angeles with her future husband, Tim Rosenman, who was working on her show. She later served as a judge on Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model. Currently, she balances her Love, Whit clothing line with her work at Rent the Runway and her With Whit podcast, as well as her return to The Hills and raising her son, Sonny Sanford Rosenman.
Besides fueling fan fiction about a love triangle with LC and Kristin, Laguna Beach’s popular star is working hard as an actor. He appeared on The CW’s One Tree Hill for five seasons and played Taylor Swift’s love interest in her “White Horse” music video. He also briefly worked as a VJ on the original Total Request Live.
He and James Lafferty, his co-star from OTH, launched the Hulu series Everyone Is Doing Great in January 2021. Then, two years later, they joined Kristin for the Back to the Beach podcast to rewatch old episodes.
Since her time on Laguna Beach, KCav’s friend has mostly avoided being on reality TV. After a short period of public attention following a 2007 DUI arrest, she built a quiet life in Texas with her husband, Michael Evans—whom she describes on Instagram as incredibly kind, patient, and loving—and their four children. She does have a blog and an online shop, but she often jokes on Instagram that she’s mostly focused on keeping track of her kids.
I remember watching Jason on Laguna Beach and The Hills, and honestly, it was tough to see him self-destruct after the show. He seemed to constantly be in trouble – drugs, DUIs, fights, you name it. It wasn’t until he went on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky that things finally started to turn around for him. He met Ashley Slack, and he says she’s the first woman he’s been with while sober, which is amazing. They’ve built a beautiful life together, and I was so happy to hear they welcomed their daughter, Delilah, in 2017, and then their son, Wyatt, in 2021. He always speaks so lovingly about Ashley, calling her the most beautiful, loving, kind, and caring woman he knows, and it’s just wonderful to see him doing so well.
Jason Wahler, the founder and owner of Widespread Recovery, continues to openly share his personal challenges, both on the TV show The Hills: New Beginnings and in his YouTube series, JAWS Diaries with Jason & Ashley Wahler.
Stephanie was initially brought onto the show to create conflict with Lauren, but they unexpectedly became friends. This caused years of tension between Stephanie and her brother, Spencer. After spending time on British reality TV shows like Celebrity Big Brother and Made in Chelsea, and publishing a memoir in 2015 about her personal struggles, she returned to The Hills and quickly resumed causing trouble. Following a harsh critique of her co-stars – calling Heidi “evil” and Audrina “crazy” – Stephanie decided not to participate in a second season.
Casey wasn’t one of the original stars of Laguna Beach, but she definitely made an impact when she joined the show. After that, she found success as a baker, opening Casey’s Cupcakes in Orange County and even winning Cupcake Wars on Food Network in 2011. Her personal life is equally fulfilling; she married Sean Brown (who is related to the late Nicole Brown Simpson) in August 2015, and they have two children: daughter Kensington Kelly Brown and son Sean Brown Jr.
Lauren and Stephen’s close friend pursued a career in hotel management, starting in New York and later becoming general manager of the Lore Group in Washington, D.C. in 2019. He remains close to his high school friends, including Lauren and Stephen, and they all attended his 2016 wedding to Isabell Hiebl in Monterey, California. Trey Phillips and Loren Polster were also there to celebrate with him. He and Isabell welcomed their son, Nico Josef Schmitz, in September 2018.
