Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon have been in the bottom two on Strictly Come Dancing twice recently, but they’re still enjoying their experience on the show.
Over the weekend, Balvinder and Julian competed in a dance-off with Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova. While judges Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke chose to keep Chris in the competition, Motsi Mabuse preferred to save Balvinder.
In the end, Craig Revel Horwood had the final say, and he chose to keep Balvinder and Julian on the show.
Balvinder suggested having a completely honest conversation with your dance partner to clear the air. Once you’ve talked everything through and dealt with it, you can put it behind you and focus on dancing.
The EastEnders star shared that they were very emotional after Saturday night’s episode, posting on Instagram: “It was a really difficult week – I didn’t realize my heart could race like that!”
She explained that she and Julian had a difficult week, especially after being in the bottom two the previous week. Knowing they needed to improve, she pushed herself to overcome a mid-week emotional struggle, reminding herself she was capable of performing and delivering a powerful Paso Doble.
Even after their dance-off, the couple is still preparing for this weekend’s show, as they and the other contestants on Strictly 2025 get ready for Icons Week.
“That’s our routine, it’s lots of fun, it’s a big party and we’re looking forward to it!”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday 25th October at 6:20pm.
