Best One Shot Bow Build for New World Season 10 | PvE & PvP

In Season 10 of New World: Aeternum, you can create a Bow build that deals massive, almost one-hit damage to enemies in both player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) combat!

With the updated Perks and how gear now works, it’s much easier to significantly boost your damage output. And if you’re using a Bow, landing headshots can increase that even further.

If that sounds like your type of playstyle, read on for all the build details!

Best One Shot Bow Build for PvE & PvP | New World: Aeternum – Season 10

Weapon Combination – Bow + Hatchet

The Bow is definitely the core of this setup. We’ll be combining it with the Hatchet because of one particular ability we’ll explain shortly.

For now, though, here’s what your Attribute spread should look like at the level cap:

  • STR – 50
  • DEX – 456
  • INT – 5
  • FOC – 5
  • CON – 19

Focus on using Banana Pudding items. They’ll maximize your Dexterity (DEX) at 500, which means the highest possible damage and all the benefits that come with a maxed-out DEX stat.

Strength (STR) gives you a small damage boost, especially with powerful attacks when you reach 50 STR. Constitution (CON) isn’t very important for this build, but getting it to 19 makes it easier to reach key stat thresholds with food buffs.

Regardless of other details, aim to build your weapon Skill Trees as shown in the examples. For the Hatchet specifically, prioritizing the ‘Defy Death’ skill at the bottom of the ‘Berserker’ tree is key – it’s the Hatchet’s primary role in this setup.

Defy Death gives you a one-time chance to avoid dying. If you would have been killed by an attack, it will instead save you and fully restore your health. However, it has a long cooldown of 70 seconds, meaning you can’t use it repeatedly to become invincible.

This ability is crucial, as this character build focuses solely on dealing high damage. You’ll be very powerful but fragile, so Defy Death provides a valuable safety net when you’re in danger.

Besides helping you avoid death, the Hatchet will also strengthen your character through its Perks. Now, let’s discuss how to equip this build.

Gearing Recommendations

Weapon and Heartrune

For your bow, the Boltcaster is a great choice. It’s a special Artifact Bow you can earn by defeating the Annoyed Aguascia boss on the Isle of Zurvan.

The Boltcaster has a special ability called Electrified. This changes almost all of its damage to Lightning damage, and also boosts the Lightning damage of your regular attacks with both weapons by 20%.

As a fan, I have to say this bow is amazing for just straight-up damage! What’s really cool is it has a free slot for an Offense Charm, which lets you add a special Perk. We’ll get into the best Perks to use later, but having that slot right away is a huge help.

When choosing a Hatchet, any Legendary version will work. The most important thing is to find one with three sockets for Offense Charms.

When it comes to your Heartrune, don’t overthink it! Any one you like will work just fine with this build. Choose whichever feels best for you.

Creed Boots – Footwear Artifact

Okay, so besides the Boltcaster, the other really important item you’re going to want for this build is the Creed Boots. I’ve found you can farm those by killing enemies level 62 and up in the Attalus’ Foundry area. It takes a bit, but it’s worth it!

These boots come with the special Ambush ability. When you land a headshot, it will deal 20% more critical damage and weaken your enemy by 10% for 5 seconds. You’ll also gain a 10% boost to your own power and a 10% increase to your critical hit chance, both lasting 5 seconds.

Just so you know, you can only Ambush the same target once every 15 seconds. However, with all the damage boosts you’re getting, they probably won’t survive long enough for you to need to Ambush them again!

Perks and Gems to Get

Finally, let’s discuss the essential Perks and Gems for this character build. Here’s a prioritized list of what you’ll need, starting with the most important and moving to the least.

  • Sacrificial Empowerment II – 5 Stacks.
  • Vicious II – 5 Stacks.
  • Vorpal II – 5 Stacks.
  • Lightning Harnessing II – As many as possible.
  • Keenly Jagged II – 1 Stack.
  • Gambit IV – 1 Stack.
  • Cursed Enchantment II – 1 Stack on Ring.
  • Lightning Damage II – 1 Stack on Ring.
  • Enchanted Ward II – 1 Stack on Creed Boots.
  • Penetrating Rapid Shot II – 1 Stack on Creed Boots.
  • Beloved II – 1 Stack. Higher priority for PvE, unnecessary for PvP.

This character build is all about maximizing damage output, and the perks chosen emphasize that. Why worry about defense when you can defeat enemies so quickly? You’ll be a powerful attacker, but fragile – a classic glass cannon!

That wraps up our guide! You now have everything you need to create a powerful Bow build for both player-versus-environment and player-versus-player combat in New World: Aeternum’s Season 10.

Not a fan of the ‘glass cannon’ playstyle? Or do you simply prefer fighting up close? We’ve also created a guide for a strong player-versus-player build that combines the Rapier and Fire Staff. It’s more adaptable and can last longer in fights, though it doesn’t have quite the same explosive damage as the build described earlier.
