Keith Urban Addresses Lyric Changes in Songs Amid Nicole Kidman Split

Keith Urban isn’t thinking of anyone in particular at his concerts.

Just weeks after Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from the country singer, he responded angrily to fans who were reading into the updated lyrics of his song, “You’ll Think of Me.”

During the final show of his High and Alive Tour in Nashville on October 17th, Keith addressed speculation, saying, ‘I’ve been doing this for a long time, so please don’t overthink things.’

While performing the song, the 57-year-old singer changed some of the lyrics. He altered the line “Take your space and take your reasons” to “Take your space and all your nonsense reasons.” He also shouted, “But I bet you’ll really think about me!” when singing the line “You’ll think of me.”

Keith Urban, known for songs like “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” often changes up the lyrics to his songs when he performs live. He’s been doing this for years, and recently did it at many concerts during his world tour.

Okay, so Keith always messes with the lyrics a little during concerts, which is fine, honestly! But lately? He’s been changing the words to “The Fighter,” and it’s… intense. During his September 27th concert in Omaha, Nebraska, Keith Urban highlighted his touring guitarist, Maggie Baugh, while she was performing with him. He playfully changed the lyrics to his song, replacing “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” with “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”

Fans were particularly surprised to learn the song was inspired by the challenging beginnings of his relationship with the Oscar winner. The Grammy winner shares two daughters, 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 14-year-old Faith Margaret, with Nicole.

He explained to Billboard in 2017 that the song came from an early conversation with his wife. They agreed that when times get difficult, he should offer her extra support and care. He described the song as being about the desire to comfort, protect, and nurture someone – almost like a promise he made to her.

Suddenly, Urban disappeared from the call.

A radio staff member announced that he was no longer connected on Zoom, and they suspected his team had ended the call to avoid answering a particular question.

TopMob News has discovered that actress Nicole Kidman is applying for Portuguese residency, and her husband, Keith Urban, is planning to do the same.

I’m hearing from a reliable source that Keith couldn’t make it to Portugal for his visa appointment. He’s currently touring in the U.S., and apparently, you have to be there in person to apply. Don’t worry though, he’s planning to submit everything as soon as his tour schedule allows!

At the time, the source said both planned to maintain a permanent residence in Nashville as well.

In a recent interview, the couple’s oldest daughter, Sunday Rose, revealed that her parents have just two main rules at home.

As a young creative, I had a couple of key guidelines growing up. First, I wasn’t able to really pursue fashion professionally until I turned sixteen. But honestly, the biggest rule was always prioritizing school. I used to push back on that a lot! Now, though, I’m so grateful my parents had that in place. In August, her attorney drafted a child support document as part of their parenting plan, outlining that Kidman and Urban would share custody of their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

Despite sharing custody, the Oscar-winning actor was designated the children’s primary caregiver. The girls live with their mother for the majority of the year – 306 days – and spend 59 days with their father, who has visitation rights every other weekend.

Neither will pay child support, according to the doc obtained by TopMob News.

As a strong believer in what’s best for kids, I was really pleased to see this outlined in the agreement. Essentially, both parents are committed to maintaining a loving and consistent relationship with our child, even though we’re divorced. That means absolutely no badmouthing each other or anyone in the other’s family – it’s all about fostering a positive environment. Most importantly, we both agree to encourage our child to love and feel comfortable with both of us and our respective families. It’s a commitment to putting our child’s well-being first, and I’m dedicated to making it work.

Urban finalized their divorce agreement, having it officially notarized in August, according to documents obtained by TopMob News.

According to the document, Kidman is divorcing him because they have differences they can’t resolve. The agreement states that neither of them will receive financial support from the other after the divorce.

The same date, he also signed off on the Parenting Plan.

One week after Urban, the actress finalized the divorce papers and signed the agreement regarding their children.

A judge ordered both celebrities to attend a parenting seminar, unless they request and are granted an exemption, according to documents obtained by TopMob News.

Even though she had already signed the legal papers, she continued to wear her engagement ring when she attended an event at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.

TopMob News reported that the couple, who began dating in 2005, had broken up quietly.

The actress known for Big Little Lies has officially filed for divorce, stating that they separated on September 30, 2025.

I was so relieved when their divorce papers and the plan for raising their kids were finally filed with the Tennessee court. It felt like a huge step forward for everyone involved, and I’m hoping it brings them all some peace.
