This gamer setup combines retro gaming with spooky season — I especially love the ghost-like mouse

See-through technology is making a comeback, and it’s fantastic! Many popular gaming consoles and accessories from the late 90s and early 2000s were known for their clear, colorful cases, and we’re now seeing that style return in new products like the Razer Phantom Green Collection, which I recently tested.

Razer is releasing a new version of its Phantom line, this time in white to celebrate Halloween. Called the Razer Phantom White Collection, it has one more accessory than the original green set and, personally, I think it looks even better.

I tested out Razer’s new Phantom White Collection, and I liked the mouse so much I decided to keep it as part of my everyday setup. I’m already hoping Razer releases a Phantom Violet Collection next, and I’d be happy to help them with it!

What is the Razer Phantom White Collection?

It turns out the new Razer Phantom White Collection is essentially the Phantom Green Collection, just with a lighter, more muted color scheme. Plus, Razer has added one new product to this collection, so let’s take a look at what’s included.

The complete Razer Phantom White Collection costs approximately $730, which is around $40 more expensive than buying the standard black and white versions of each item. This collection includes higher-quality accessories than many of Razer’s other special editions, and I really appreciate that.

I prefer this over Phantom Green

I really liked the original Phantom Green Collection when I tried it out, and I complimented Razer for making a genuine effort to create attractive, see-through products.

Razer didn’t just give the device a cosmetic update; they completely redesigned the inside, tried out various materials and colors, and refined the design through many versions to make it the best it could be. I even had a conversation with Razer’s head of design to learn about this process.

Okay, so while I’m a huge fan overall, the Phantom Green Collection wasn’t *perfect*. Honestly, the green color made it tough to really see the cool stuff inside. Plus, the RGB lighting didn’t always look great with it, and the biggest issue? The keyboard keys were almost impossible to read! It was a real shame because I was excited to see everything lit up, but legibility just wasn’t there.

While Razer had to begin with its signature green translucent design, I still think the new collection is a win. However, I really prefer the Phantom White Collection. I also appreciate that Razer included the Kishi V3 mobile controller – it was a smart addition.

The new design feels more unified and looks great with Razer’s colorful Chroma RGB lighting, which is featured on most of the items. I think many people who didn’t buy the previous green collection will want to add these to their gaming setups, and I understand why—I’m planning to get them myself!

And I like this mouse enough that I’m still using it

As an analyst covering gaming peripherals, I’ve traditionally favored all-black setups. However, I’ve recently been leaning towards lighter colors, and when I unboxed the new Phantom White Collection – specifically the Basilisk V3 Pro mouse and Firefly V2 Pro mousepad – I immediately decided to switch from my usual black gear. The difference was that striking!

The mouse is definitely the star of the Phantom White Collection. I especially love being able to see the inner workings and the vibrant RGB lights. It was so impressive, even my friend who doesn’t care about gaming accessories was impressed!

I really love the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K – it’s easily my favorite mouse of all time. I also tested out the Razer BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard, and it’s fantastic. It’s Razer’s take on the popular trend of customizable, high-end keyboards, and I enjoyed reviewing the Pro version of it as well.

I’ll have to postpone making that decision for now. I’m already swamped with keyboard reviews, and I noticed the color of the internal switches showing through the clear keys, which was a bit distracting.

The Razer Phantom White Collection is a fantastic retro-inspired set, and its ghostly white color scheme is especially fitting for autumn and Halloween. You can find the entire collection now at Razer.com, with prices starting at $109.99.
