Fans of the Silent Hill series are excited after a new hint appeared online, featuring the actors who played the lead characters in Silent Hill 2. More details are expected soon. It’s been a fantastic year for Silent Hill fans, with the critically acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f both releasing to positive reviews – a remarkable turnaround after more than ten years without a new installment. And it looks like there’s still more to come.
Both Silent Hill: Townfall and a remake of the original Silent Hill are confirmed to be in development. However, there’s been no news about a remake of Silent Hill 2. Despite this, it seems like Bloober Team and Konami are working on something related to the series.
New Tease
During a recent livestream, Luke Roberts and Salome Gunnarsdottir, the actors who voice the characters James and Maria, hinted at a connection to the Silent Hill series. Roberts said more details will be coming soon, while Gunnarsdottir simply smiled and agreed.
Roberts praised the development team at Bloober Team, saying he’d happily collaborate with them constantly. He hinted at a future partnership, suggesting they’ll be working together again soon and that an announcement is coming, but didn’t offer specifics.
Gunnarsdottir acknowledges this is a clear hint, and the big question is what Roberts is hinting at. Luckily, industry rumors offer a clue. Last year, a reliable insider named Dusk Golem reported that Bloober Team was developing a DLC called Born From a Wish. It’s possible this DLC has grown into something bigger and more special, and that’s likely what Roberts is referring to. It’s hard to imagine what else the tease could be about.
If you’re unfamiliar, Born From a Wish was additional content released for the original Silent Hill 2, and it’s not included in the new remake. Notably, this content originally came out a year after the game was released on Xbox. This is relevant because Silent Hill 2 is expected to become available on Xbox soon, now that its period of being exclusive to the PlayStation 5 appears to be ending.
The only confusing part of this situation is that Gunnarsdottir recently stated Konami and Bloober Team hadn’t reached out to her about Born From a Wish. Either that wasn’t accurate, or things changed quickly in the last few weeks. Either way, it makes Roberts’ recent hint seem a little unclear and uncertain.
