Spoiler Warning: This article reveals details from the One Piece manga! Over six years ago, the One Piece manga introduced the God Valley Incident, where the pirate Rocks D. Xebec was defeated by an unlikely team-up of Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp. Since then, fans have speculated about Xebec, and the manga is now showing his story as part of the Elbaf Arc. Previously thought to be a destructive pirate responsible for chaos 38 years ago, the current storyline reveals that Xebec was actually the one who suffered during the incident.
Xebec was a major problem for the World Government. He had killed an Admiral and, as a member of the rare Davy Clan – descendants of Davy Jones who managed to survive in the criminal world – he was considered a dangerous threat. Though he kept his real identity secret, he was still targeted, leading the Celestial Dragons to organize the Native Hunting Competition in God Valley, where Xebec was hiding with his wife and young son, Marshall D. Teach.
One Piece’s Elbaf Arc Reveals What Imu Did to Xebec

As the villains predicted, Rocks took the bait, fully aware he wouldn’t survive. Every three years, the Celestial Dragons randomly destroyed an island, but Saint Figarland Garling specifically chose God Valley this time. He discovered it was the home of Xebec and where Xebec was hiding his family. Xebec’s family, along with the other islanders, were captured, and soon pirates and Marines began to fight. The situation escalated dramatically when Imu unexpectedly appeared and took control of Saint Jaygarcia Saturn’s body.
Imu mistakenly believed Xebec was Davy Jones, but still wanted to eliminate him and everyone connected to the Davy Clan. However, Imu’s plan to destroy the clan backfired spectacularly. By using a dark power called Domi Reversi, Imu turned Xebec into a puppet, intending for him to unknowingly kill his own family. Chapter 1163 ends with this shocking twist, strongly suggesting Xebec’s death is imminent and revealing the series’ ultimate villain as the one responsible. Meanwhile, Teach survived and even became a Yonko, but it appears his mother perished on that same day as his father.
