For decades, DC Comics has been the leader in creating alternate universes within its superhero stories. They pioneered the concept of the multiverse, and even when the original multiverse ended, their ‘Elseworlds’ stories offered incredibly imaginative alternate worlds. Now that the multiverse is back, DC has continued to introduce readers to fantastic new realities. One of the most popular has been the world of ‘Injustice,’ inspired by the ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ video games. More recently, the ‘Absolute’ comics in 2024 generated a lot of excitement. However, these aren’t the first stories to explore alternate Earths, and hopefully, they won’t be the last. There are so many incredible worlds waiting to be discovered, and it’s time DC revisited them.
Fans generally love the high-quality Absolute comics, but DC has a vast multiverse with many other fascinating alternate worlds that could be explored further. DC is known for creating compelling alternate Earths, and we’d love to see three of them get their own dedicated comic series, allowing readers to really dive into those worlds.
3) Earth-2

Many DC Comics fans, myself included, have always been drawn to Earth-Two. It represents the original DC Universe, featuring all the beloved heroes from the Golden Age. Although those heroes now exist within the main DC Universe (Prime Earth), fans know Earth-Two still exists, and it’s overdue for a proper exploration. Will it be a world filled with members of the Justice Society of America? Will it resemble previous versions of Earth-Two from before or after the Crisis event? For many, Earth-Two is the first alternate world that comes to mind when thinking about the DC Multiverse, and it’s frustrating that we haven’t spent much time there in recent comics. Considering its history in various eras of DC Comics, it’s time to revisit this classic world.
2) Batman: Last Knight On Earth‘s Earth

In Batman: Last Knight on Earth, Batman transforms into a villain called Omega, defeating all heroes and villains and taking control of the world. A clone of Batman and the still-alive head of the Joker escape and start a rebellion against him. The story concludes with a new baby Kal-El arriving on this Earth, the Joker becoming Robin, and Batman and Wonder Woman beginning to rebuild the world. This setting has incredible possibilities, and DC should revisit it. Seeing the Joker as Robin alone is a compelling reason for a sequel series.
1) JLA: The Nail‘s Earth

Even though the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline reshaped the DC Multiverse, it didn’t stop DC from telling stories in alternate universes. After the Crisis, the publisher created the fantastic Elseworlds comics, which reimagined DC heroes in brand new settings. One of the most memorable was JLA: The Nail and its follow-up, Another Nail. These comics presented a world where Superman was raised by the Amish instead of the Kents, and the superhero community developed differently without him. Eventually, a threat involving Lex Luthor and a powered-up Jimmy Olsen brought Superman into the mix. The sequel introduced a universe-threatening danger unlike anything the heroes had faced before, all while Superman tried to build a new life with his friends, Lois Lane, and the Kents. This alternate Earth felt like a classic Silver Age DC world updated for modern readers, and it would be great to revisit that story and see how everything played out.
