One Piece live-action season 2 release date confirmed as Netflix unveils epic new first look at Drum Island

I’m so excited! Netflix just gave us a sneak peek at the next season of their live-action One Piece! It looks amazing, and we’ll get to see what happens with Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy) and the rest of the crew really soon – early next year, apparently! Can’t wait!

This show is adapted from a hugely popular Japanese manga and anime with over 1,000 episodes. It’s set in a world filled with quirky pirates all searching for the legendary treasure called the One Piece.

Netflix’s adaptation is a rare success story for live-action anime, managing to impress both critics and viewers – something that previous attempts like Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, and Speed Racer failed to do.

After the popular live-action One Piece series, many episodes from the original animated series became available on BBC iPlayer, showing a big increase in interest in the show.

The second season of One Piece, officially called Into The Grand Line, will be available on Netflix starting Tuesday, March 10th, 2026.

According to Netflix, the story follows Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hats, as they embark on a journey across the Grand Line – a famous and perilous sea filled with both exciting adventures and hidden threats.

I’m following their adventure as they travel through this crazy, ever-changing world, hunting for the ultimate treasure. Along the way, they keep running into the strangest islands and facing off against some seriously tough new enemies!

The release date was announced along with a first look at the live-action version of Drum Island, a famously cold and snowy location from the original animated series. You can see it on both the poster and the image above.

Taz Skylar, who appears alongside the main cast, explained the meaning of the subtitle for viewers who aren’t familiar with the original One Piece story, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

He explained that the Grand Line represents a point of no return, a place where old solutions don’t work anymore and you’re forced to completely rethink how to tackle major challenges.

The issues that escalate quickest are often the most serious you’ll face, and that’s exactly what’s happening to all of us Straw Hats now that we’ve entered the Grand Line. We’re all handling these challenges in our own way.

The stars of One Piece – Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Skylar as Sanji – are returning for the show’s second season.

Godoy announced the exciting news in a video on the official One Piece YouTube channel. He also shared that he’s already starting production on the third season, which received an early green light earlier in the year.

One Piece season 2 is coming to Netflix in March 2026.
