Who is Eva Price in Coronation Street and what led to her exit?

Eva Price, played by Catherine Tyldesley, is back on Coronation Street and has made a big impact by becoming the new owner of the Rovers Return pub, thanks to her husband Ben Driscoll’s family.

A long-standing rivalry between her and Maria Connor flared up again. Meanwhile, Eva stepped in to help sisters Leanne Battersby and Toyah Habeeb resolve their conflict and stop arguing over Nick Tilsley.

After a chaotic night locked inside the pub, the new owner was stunned when her mother-in-law, Maggie (Pauline McLynn), arrived and declared she would be running the place, as she’d provided the money to buy it.

Oh dear!

Now that Eva has returned to the neighborhood with her family, including her daughter Susie (played by Aurora Bradshaw), here’s a quick reminder of who she is and what happened when she was here before.

Who is Eva Price in Coronation Street?

Eva first appeared in Weatherfield in 2011 with her mother, Stella, and Stella’s partner, Karl. The following year, Stella’s mother, Gloria, also joined them, growing the family further.

Stella eventually shared that she was Leanne’s biological mother, but chose not to raise her after she was born.

Over the years, she’s been linked to several men, including Jason Grimshaw (played by Ryan Thomas), Rob Donovan (Mark Baylis), Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), and Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward).

She found out Aidan was having an affair with Maria on her wedding day, which resulted in a huge fight between the two women – a fight that ended with them physically fighting in a fountain.

Who is Eva Price’s daughter Susie?

In January 2018, Eva found out she was pregnant, but decided against having the baby. Around the same time, Toyah and Peter Barlow were trying for a family with a surrogate, but unfortunately, the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.

Toyah was so heartbroken that she agreed to let Peter believe the surrogate mother had given birth to their baby, and they maintained this arrangement for several months. However, Eva started to question things when she realized she still had romantic feelings for Aidan.

When she told him she was pregnant, he ended the relationship, assuming Adam was the father of the baby.

Eva later gave birth to a baby girl, Susie, in a secluded cottage in Cheshire. She had kept her pregnancy a secret, and they created a false birth certificate. Susie was named after Peter’s deceased sister, Susan.

Peter was deceived, but Aidan had a feeling something was wrong and sadly took his own life following a struggle with his mental health. Toyah, realizing she couldn’t continue the deception, admitted the truth to her partner.

Aidan’s father, Johnny, believed Aidan would still be alive if he’d known about Susie, and tried to gain legal custody of the child. This horrified Eva, who then asked Adam to falsely claim paternity, pretending he was the father.

Of course, secrets don’t stay secret for long, and Eva left Manchester for a new life with Susie.
