Nintendo Switch 2 May Be Getting One of the Best RPGs of the Past Decade

As a Nintendo Switch fan, I’m getting so excited about all the games potentially coming to the Switch 2! It seems like a ton of titles are already being added since its release in June 2025, and the console is quickly becoming a great place to play. I’ve been hearing rumors that a really amazing RPG – seriously, one of the best from the last decade – is likely to be ported over from other platforms. While nothing is official yet, everything points to this being a fantastic addition to the Switch 2’s library.

NateTheHate2, a source with a history of accurate leaks, recently suggested that Baldur’s Gate 3 might be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This came up when someone asked about the possibility of Red Dead Redemption 2 or Baldur’s Gate 3 being ported to the new console. NateTheHate2 said they’d heard something about Baldur’s Gate 3 for the Switch 2, but need to confirm the information before sharing it. They’ve earned a reputation for reliable leaks, having correctly predicted dates for past Nintendo Direct and PlayStation State of Play presentations.

Baldur’s Gate 3 on Nintendo Steam 2 Would Make the Title Available to a Whole New Market

Popular games are often released on many different consoles and computers. However, Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t yet available on any of Nintendo’s systems. While it’s out on PlayStation and Xbox, it hasn’t been released for the Nintendo Switch. The reason for this isn’t known, but it could be because the Switch’s hardware isn’t powerful enough to run the game.

Fans hoping to play Baldur’s Gate 3 on the upcoming Switch 2 may be in luck. A trusted source suggests the game could come to the more powerful new console. This is likely, as Larian Studios recently released a special version of Baldur’s Gate 3 for the Steam Deck in September 2025, giving players a way to enjoy the game on the go, in addition to the existing Steam version.

Larian Studios faced challenges bringing Baldur’s Gate 3 to the Xbox Series S, which delayed its release compared to the PC version. The main problem was getting the split-screen co-op feature to work smoothly, and this could potentially cause issues with a Switch 2 version as well. However, the developers eventually solved the problems and launched the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate revival on Xbox four months after the PC release.

If Baldur’s Gate 3 comes to the Switch 2, it would allow a whole new group of players to experience the game who haven’t been able to so far. While it’s currently just a rumor, the source suggests there’s a strong possibility that Switch 2 owners will soon be able to play Baldur’s Gate 3, potentially boosting sales even further beyond the current 15 million copies sold.
