Brian Austin Green Makes Rare Comment on His & Megan Fox’s Son Journey

Brian Austin Green is making sure his son’s spooky season is terror-ific. 

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared that he’s making a detailed Halloween costume for his 9-year-old son, Journey, who he shares with his ex-wife, Megan Fox. The costume is inspired by one of Journey’s favorite horror films.

Brian shared on Instagram that his son, Journey, is a huge fan of Five Nights at Freddy’s. Journey especially loves Matthew Lillard, who plays the villainous Spring Bonnie in the movie. As a result, Brian is making a Spring Bonnie costume for him.

The camera then showed a large yellow bunny costume lying on the floor of his house. It had a purple bow tie and black buttons on its stomach.

I’ve been following Brian and Megan’s blended family for a while now, and it’s amazing to see how they make it all work. Brian, who’s a dad to Noah, 13, and Bodhi, 11, with Megan, recently shared that putting everything together hasn’t been simple, but he’s really pleased with how far they’ve come. It’s so heartwarming to see them navigate it all!

He explained he still had some work left to do on the project, either today or tomorrow, and asked people not to mention its unfinished state. He added that it was the first costume he’d ever made, consisting of foam and wrapped materials, and he was really enjoying the process, finding it ‘pretty cool.’

He wanted to show everyone his costume early, just in case he couldn’t on Halloween, October 31st.

Brian said he couldn’t believe Halloween was almost here. He quickly shared something, explaining he wasn’t sure how many photos he’d be taking on Halloween night itself.

Brian, who is a father to three children – Zane, age 3, with his fiancée Sharna Burgess, and Kassius, 23, with his ex Vanessa Marcil – generally prefers to keep his family life private.

Sharna explained that the decision was mainly because their children already deal with a lot of teasing.

I’ve seen articles claiming I’m forcing my son, Zane, to live as a girl simply because I haven’t cut his hair yet,” she shared on the Between Us Moms podcast in October 2024. “It’s absurd that people are saying my kids are being forced to be girls – I really don’t get where that’s coming from.

She explained that all the attention wasn’t good for their children, and it didn’t suit Brian’s personality at all.

Brian Austin Green spent a relaxing morning cuddling with his three children – Noah (born in 2012), Bodhi (born in 2014), and Journey (born in 2016) – whom he shares with his former partner, Megan Fox.

Following his split from Megan in 2020, actor Brian Austin Green began a relationship with Sharna Burgess, his dance partner from Dancing with the Stars. They had a son, Zane, in 2022 and got engaged in 2023.

Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker, had a daughter named Casie with his former partner, Emma Cannon, in 2009. More recently, in 2023, he became engaged to Megan Fox.

Megan, who is dedicated to raising her children with her ex, has been honest about the challenges of co-parenting. In a 2022 interview with Glamour UK, she shared that it’s difficult balancing wanting to be present for her kids constantly with feeling like she’s not measuring up. She also acknowledged the reality of only being able to spend half the time with them due to being separated from their father, stating simply, ‘That just is what it is.’

Brian has a blended family that includes his adult son, Kassius, from his previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil. In December 2023, the actor shared a holiday photo with his partner, Sharna, and all five of his children.

Being a mother helps Megan stay centered and connected to what truly matters. In a 2023 interview with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, she explained that motherhood reminds her of how deeply and consistently present she’s always been. She also shared that she sees her own parenting reflected in her children’s actions and personalities.

It’s such a rare glimpse of them all together, I’ve probably replayed it a million times. Seriously, it made my week!

The popular musician now relies on his daughter for feedback on his songs. He told Kelly Clarkson in 2021 that he values her opinion above his own, explaining she has a good sense of what’s currently popular and can tell him if a song is working well.

To celebrate Mother’s Day 2024, Brian shared a sweet message for Sharna on Instagram, calling her an amazing mother and fiancée and expressing how much everyone loves her.

As a lifestyle expert, I completely understand Megan’s approach to social media and her kids. She’s made a conscious effort to shield them from the internet, and I think that’s fantastic. She shared with Glamour UK that it was a priority for her from a young age, and it sounds like she’s been really successful in helping them maintain a sense of innocence. Of course, she knows she can’t keep them completely shielded forever, but it’s wonderful she’s prioritizing their wellbeing in this way.

Brian says the key to successful co-parenting is choosing when to argue. He explained to TopMob News in 2024 that separation will impact children, but parents can control how it impacts them. He believes trying to shield kids completely from the effects of a separation is unrealistic.

Megan avoids saying negative things about her children’s father when she’s with them. As she explained on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2023, she believes that speaking badly about him would be like rejecting a part of her own kids, since he’s an important part of who they are.

Brian shared a photo on Instagram of his kids enjoying a sunny day in Malibu, simply writing, “Great day!!”

Machine Gun Kelly, seen with his daughter Casie at the 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards, says his daughter played a key role in his journey to sobriety. He shared on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast that learning she knew when he was using drugs was a turning point. Now sober since August 2023, he explained he wants to be the father he always wished he had and is determined to end a pattern of unhealthy behavior for his daughter.

Sharna expressed her gratitude to Brian’s children for giving her a preview of motherhood. Speaking on the Quite Frankly podcast in 2023, she explained that being around them allowed her to practice parenting skills and gain confidence. She realized she enjoyed working with kids and believed she’d be a good mother.

In 2020, Brian appeared as a contestant on the show The Masked Singer. He shared on Instagram that he was really looking forward to watching it with his kids, but unfortunately, they fell asleep after just 15 minutes.

No job is too big for the TV star and his mini-mes.

Brian had a vasectomy about two months after their son, Zane, was born, but he could potentially reverse the procedure later. Sharna mentioned on the Oldish podcast in January that they would consider having more children if they had the room and resources, but with four young kids already, their lives are incredibly hectic.

On March 27, 2025, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) had a baby girl, adding to their family. The rocker even wrote an original song for her arrival, with help from friends like Travis Barker.

“She’s finally here,” MGK exclaimed in a post on Instagram, “our little celestial seed.”

In April 2025, Brian and Sharna had a fun and delightful time with Zion, Noah, Bodhi, and Journey, sharing both treats and laughter.

Machine Gun Kelly recently spent some quality time with his daughter Casie, just after he and Megan Fox welcomed their new baby girl.
