Relive All the Costumes That Made Heidi Klum the Queen of Halloween

I’ve been a fan of Heidi Klum for years, and it’s always been amazing to watch her. One minute she’s this incredibly glamorous, tall model, and the next… well, she can be a little scary, honestly! It’s part of what makes her so captivating, though.

This Halloween, on October 31st, the host of Project Runway is saying goodbye to revealing costumes at her yearly party.

Heidi Klum recently told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that she’s already busy working on her next project, and she anticipates it will be amazing.

She playfully warned she was going to look frighteningly bad. “Let’s keep this a surprise,” she said with a wink. “We have 86 days, but it feels like forever!”

Despite her attempts to stay tight-lipped, she couldn’t resist giving another small clue, posting a 3D mold of her face on Instagram on October 1st with the caption, “This is just the beginning.”

The 52-year-old also mentioned makeup artist Mike Marino, one of many talented professionals she’s working with to maintain her status as the queen of Halloween.

If you want to playfully scare Heidi Klum, just mention her first Halloween costume from the year 2000 – it was quite memorable for her fans!

You know, when I was planning my look, I had a very specific vision! I told myself, ‘I’m Heidi, and I want to create a Heidi-inspired outfit – something like a traditional dirndl, but with a modern, patent leather twist.’ The funny part was, I ended up doing all my own hair and makeup because I hadn’t met the amazing team I work with now, so it was definitely a DIY moment!

As a result, she acknowledged, “This is boring.”Ā

She really went all out last year, arriving with her husband, Tom Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel, in elaborate costumes as E.T. from the iconic 1982 movie of the same name.

You know, one of my favorite Halloween costumes ever was E.T.! It was such a fun look, but let me tell you, it wasn’t all glamour. That E.T. head was heavy – it stretched from the back of my neck all the way around to the front. I honestly thought my neck was going to give out! It was a total workout just keeping my head up!

And heavy is the head that holds the queen of Halloween crown.Ā

Let me tell you, creating something truly memorable takes real effort! It’s not the kind of thing you can just whip up last minute. I really wanted to get it right, so I invested a lot of time and careful planning. It’s a process, and a worthwhile one, but it definitely isn’t quick!

With so many people eagerly anticipating what she’ll share, she’s going all out to make it special. “I really want to deliver something everyone will love,” she explained, “so I’m putting my heart and soul into it.”

Before we reveal her latest Halloween look, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit all her iconic costumes from years past. It’s clear she’s been a Halloween pro for over 20 years!

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz’s Halloween costume! They totally went as E.T. and Elliott from the movie, and Heidi was E.T.! She told Jimmy Fallon all about it – she said she loved being E.T., but honestly, the head was SO heavy! She was worried her neck was actually going to break because it kept shifting around. I mean, can you imagine?! She’s amazing, even when her neck is about to snap off for a perfect costume!

Heidi was incredibly proud at her yearly party, and she had nine guests dress up as the colorful, elaborate feathers and sharp claws of a peacock to create a stunning visual effect.

Heidi Klum celebrated her 21st annual Halloween party – sponsored by Now Screaming X Prime Video and Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur – by revealing a creative worm costume. The America’s Got Talent judge is known for her elaborate Halloween looks!

After enjoying a night at Sake No Hana,Ā Heidi changed into a nude sheer bedazzled jumpsuit.

The reality TV star shared on Instagram that Halloween will be a little different this year because of the coronavirus, but encouraged people to still have fun and be creative at home.

For her Halloween video, Heidi dressed up as a spooky mummy. It was just one of several scary costumes she featured in the five-minute clip.

Heidi blended into her walls with this clever costume in 2020.

Heidi? Are you there? It was difficult to find her because she blended right in with the blue and black patterned sheets.

The star’s costume was truly out of this world when she turned herself into a gory alien.

The supermodel dressed up as Fiona, the beloved green princess from Shrek. She’d wanted to do this for a long time, explaining to People magazine that she just needed someone adventurous enough to join her. That’s when her husband, Tom Kaulitz, stepped in.

One of the judges from America’s Got Talent had a blast dressing up as the werewolf from Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” music video. She said she really wanted to perform the dance from the video!

For Halloween this year, the fashion expert didn’t dress up as someone else. Instead, she created five identical versions of herself using makeup, prosthetics, and amazing wigs.

Heidi who? The former Project Runway host answered only to Jessica Rabbit.

My kids were amazed when I transformed into a butterfly,” she shared with TopMob News. “They asked, ‘Mom, is that really you in there?’

The actress told TopMob News that her children were frightened when she dressed up to look like an older version of herself.

Heidi gaveĀ Elizabeth TaylorĀ a run for her moneyĀ withĀ this chic Cleopatra costume.

Here, Heidi Klum is pictured with her former husband, Seal, during what appears to be a much happier and more passionate time in their relationship.

The model, previously known for her work with Victoria’s Secret, had an incredibly toned physique. She first showed off this look at a party in Las Vegas on October 29th.

The model is tall, but notĀ that tall. Heidi woreĀ stilts to make this robot monstrosity more menacing.

Here’s a fun fact: a group of crows is called a murder! This might be why the model chose a crow as the inspiration for her spooky costume. When she saw the event’s backdrop was black, she decided to design the entire set. As she told People magazine, “Now I work on the background, too.” From that point on, she started designing everything for her appearances, including the backdrop and carpet.

Heidi’s costume as theĀ Hindu goddess of death and time, Kali,Ā has since divided the internet.

Heidi’sĀ ferocious feline doesn’t hold a creepy candle toĀ the CGI in Cats.

I just adore her in this outfit! It’s a really clever take on the story of Eve from the Bible, playing with the idea of the forbidden fruit. She looks absolutely stunning and really brings the character to life.

Eat your heart out—literally!

It’s not always true that witches wear black! This particular witch actually had a delicate, lacy costume, and she even used a fake skeleton she found at a medical supply store as part of it.

Gladiator goddess or sci-fi dream? Either way, this vivacious look goes down as one of her best.

The former Victoria’s Secret model was red hot, as she channeledĀ the iconicĀ Betty Boop.

In her second year hosting,Ā the star went full Lady Godiva—horse and all!

The model’s style has evolved over time, but for her first public appearance, she simply went as Heidi – the character from Johanna Spyri’s classic novels. She wore a dirndl, though she noted it wasn’t a traditional one. She also did her own hair and makeup back then.
